Yes, I have checked, and just in case someone wants to travel tomorrow its less than $400! AWESOME!But I dont have my passport yet, my fiance called the embassy yesterday and they told him that I would have it between wed and friday because DHL is picking it up on tuesday, so we are looking for flights for those days, we want to spend new years eve together, and Spirit has not flights till Jan 15th, so we are looking maybe in Avianca with 1 stop in bogota, that one is $1100... we will see, we have to get the flight once we have the passport with the visa in hand

Hello Everyone!

You do not need a visa to transfer from one airport to the next even if you are in another country. If you leave the designated area, you will be stopped

by the Customs/Embassy officer who will ask for a visa before existing the designated area. So if you are ONLY transferring, YOU DO NOT need a

visa but if YOU ARE STAYING IN THE country OUTSIDE the airport then you will need a visa because you can't leave the Customs/Embassy area without

it!

Good luck and enjoy yourself!

You can say that all you want, but it won't make it true. It may help clear it up for you to read the posted replies above.

When offering advice here, please be cautious. If the OP were to take your suggestion, she could find herself stranded in an airport in Lima or elsewhere, unable to travel to see her fiance and perhaps responsible for buying additional tickets.

I suggest you go onto the Canadian and Mexican immigration, consulate or embassy websites and find out if you need a transit visa. As stated in the previous posts each country is different and many require an Airport / Airside Transit Visa. Alternatively call them.

Don't take a chance and arrive in the transit country without having first confirmed you do not need one or getting one if you need it. You could and most likely will be sent back home.

According to the Canadian Immigration website - it you are a citizen of Peru you will need a transit visa : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp#exemptions

See the Mexican embassy website: http://embamex.sre.gob.mx/peru/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=34&Itemid=29

but note: http://embamex.sre.gob.mx/peru/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=157%3Anacionales-peruanos-y-extranjeros-que-cuenten-con-una-visa-vigente-y-valida-para-los-estados-unidos-de-america-eua-no-requeriran-visa-para-ingresar-a-mexico&Itemid=13

I hope you get to be with your loved one soon.

This was a nice topic, something I did not think about. I assume if you go through the transfer area with a valid ticket and stay within the airport no other documents were needed.

Having a K1 Visa from the USA {Philippians} is not like having a US passport with its benifits in many countries ?

My future wife will not be flying directly, so i assume I will have to search each countries website for transit Visa information ?

You dont need ANY visa for any country as long as you stay inside the departure (airside) area of the airport. It would be ridicuous if air travellers had to purchase a visa for every airport on the way to thier final destination.

I,m sorry but this is just simply not true certainly not for the UK (unless you are a UK or other exempted passport holder) even if you are only catching a connecting flight you WILL need a transit or other type visa first. If the OP show up in either of these countries without the relavant visa the IO,s of those countries can and most likely well deny entry

Follow up with your travel agent / airline, if no results go tho the airport site, then to each country. Traveling to China form USA via Korea just stayed in travel area no visa needed. Looks like Peru via Mexico visa might be needed needed. Check out this site for transit visas; http://www.visahq.com/visas.php

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Unless you plan on leaving the airport then you need a transit visa, staying within the confines of the airport to wait for your flight does not require a visa.

i can assure that that is not true some countries may allow you to transit.although most countries i have had to travel too have required me to show my passport and visa,s even though i'm only there for a few hours and have no intention of leaving the airport.

You indeed need a visa if you fly via Canada.

My Dad was denied boarding last August because I had no idea about it and bought him a ticket for Air Canada. He had to buy a completely new ticket to fly through Germany. I have flown to so many country myself and could not even imagine that Canada might have a stupid rule like this while Europe, for instance, doesn't, and of course never checked for it. Lesson learned.

P. S. He had to be at the airport of Montreal for 30 minutes between his flights and of course would have not leave the airport.

Hi guys!! Merry christmas to all of you! :)

I have a concern, I will be picking up the visa in this week and going to US before New Year´s eve, the thing is that I dont know if I would need a visa for transit in Canada if the flight has a layover there, or in Mexico.

Thank you!

In my travels I have'nt needed a visa to just layover. As long as you dont leave the airport you should have no problems.

Depends on what country the person is from, if that country is not on the list they don't need the transit visa -
