Wife and baby are home safe. LAN did not offer anything and asked her to pay $2,499 for the next flight (the next day) with 2 stops to SFO. Since we had the non-stop to LA Korean Air ticket in hand ($1,500), she flew back with them and after a short stop in the back room at Immigration in LAX - they always do that for her - she was in my arms at 10pm Dec. 31st. Jan. 1st was a beautiful and warm day.

Thank you all for your support... and remember, always carry the original documents from immigration everywhere ;)

Our Timeline below - CA Service Center - Consulate: Rio de Janeiro - Local Office: San Jose, CA

October 5, 2006: We meet for the first time!

March 8, 2008: I-129F K1-Fiancee Visa Application mailed

October 27, 2008: K1 VISA RECEIVED !! (233 days - 7 MONTHS 19 DAYS)

January 17, 2009: Entry - POE: JFK w/EAD (315 days)

February 6, 2009: WEDDING! (335 days)

March 24, 2009: Sent AOS, EAD, AP package to Chicago Lock box (381 days - 1 YEAR 16 DAYS)

June 30, 2009: Interview in San Jose, CA (479 days) - NOT approved, Sworn statement required

AUGUST 14, 2009: GREEN CARD IN HAND (524 days - 1 YEAR 5 MONTHS 6 DAYS)

May 31, 2011: Sent I-751 Removal of Conditions package (1179 days - 3 YEARS 2 MONTHS 23 DAYS)

January 25, 2012: 10-Year Green Card Received (1418 days - 3 YEARS 10 MONTHS 17 DAYS)

10 year card arrived in mail 12/10/12

Any chance you could call your credit card company and dispute part of the original charge since she didn't get to fly back...?

I am trying the "Customer Relations" route, hoping for a gesture.

I already need to dispute the charges from the phone company when Angela used a pay phone at the Lima airport to call my cell phone and they charged $200 for 3 calls, one of about 2mn, the next 4mn, and the last about 10mn. It seems the "additional charged may apply" meant you will be charged $49 for the connection.

Another lesson learned: never ever use a pay phone to call International with a Credit Card.

By the way, the company is "BBG" and they are already known for their scams. Just google "bbg scams" and you will see what we're talking about here.

Any chance you could call your credit card company and dispute part of the original charge since she didn't get to fly back...?
