Hi Rhiz,

I have not heard from you since September. Did you guys try to work it out or has he still ignored you all this time? Did he tell you it is over now? Will he give you the divorce? Did you go to the US consulate and ask them what you can do? You have been together 5 years? How long have you been married?

Did he say that he NEVER sent your papers or is he still saying he sent them?

Also, you never answered a question people asked in September....How often did he visit since marriage?

I do not know if you can get your marriage annuled without him but I hope so. Please ask the embassy in your town.

Good Luck

Hi!Any one here know the legal things...Im gonna ask if i can sue my husband for keeping and playing me for many years and now he leave me.Im a filipina and married with the american citizen, all he did to me was lied.we got married here in philippines.thanks

Hello "rhiz27" ! First of all, I'm very sorry for what you are going through. I have read your previous posts. I think you have done your best to work out on your marriage. And I feel you don't deserve this kind of man in your life. I know it is hard, but, please be strong - MOVE ON, dear! God really loves you very much. God doesn't want you to continue your sufferings. I feel it is not God's plan for you. God's plan will never put you down, will never harm you, it is prosperous, in short you won't experience this kind of trouble. Just thank God it happened on this very early stage of your marriage. If you could convince your husband to file a divorce in the US that would be a good legal step. The divorce decree should be recognized here in the Philippines. Another, you could also file for an annulment of marriage here in the Philippines, but, infidelity is not a ground for annulment. If you have a good lawyer, I'm sure you could work it out. But, you need a huge amount of money to file annulment.

I don't think it is a good idea to sue him. It will just entail another cost on your part, not only more money, but, more emotional struggle. And, it would be even harder for you to move on. It is better to MOVE ON completely and LIFT IT ALL TO GOD -- TRUST GOD as HE KNOWS BEST. And, hopefully, you could learn from this experience.

It's Christmas -- I guess you just have to love yourself and enjoy time with your family. I know it is easier said than done, but, we know this is the best thing to do. I'm sure God has greater things in store for you this coming year -- remember, we couldn't change someone -- but, we could change ourselves -- our hearts. Please take it as a blessing, Sis. I don't know you, but, hope this helps a little re lightening your heart. God bless you and your family. Merry Christmas ! Smile :)

You can try but I doubt you would win. There is no law against what he's done. "You could have left him" is what they would probably say. He wasn't holding you against your will. There are many examples I could use but basically if you want to try, try. Just don't be surprised when you end up having to pay HIS legal fees as well (which they can do and are more inclined to do if they consider the lawsuit frivolous).

Doubtful. What you need is a divorce attorney.

More than moving on, you're on a tough spot how to legally dissolve your marriage. If you do not have any means, come to any PAO (Public Attorney's Office)in your municipality and see what they say. I know you have to economically qualify but I am not sure if they accept annulment cases. Ask more than 2 lawyers because they may have different opinion. I know you still have to produce some money even if they'll accept your case so you have to financially prepare yourself. You have to work somewhere where you can earn a a lot of money to spend. Best of luck to you :star:

Happy New Year!
