Actually the lack of internet stalkers in Vermont is good reason not to have anyone else decide who can carry a gun. Must truly suck to live in a state where you have to ask permission from some political hack to have the means to defend your life. You cannot even go to a beauty parlor in CA without fear of getting killed by a stalker. No wonder California has such a crime problem. Un-armed victims!

Yes, deciding for yourself is freedom. Somebody else deciding is called absence of freedom.

Martian? BigFoot? Monkey escaped from the zoo? If you want to dance around with "what if"...have fun. If somethings in my house that doesn't belong or I can't identify, it's going down. I'm going to err on my personal survival. The last thing to do with intrusion is delay by second guessing yourself or worry about what the sheriff will do if you shoot the neighbors dog.

Yes, stress does the fight/flight reptile brain thing...so what people do with that is unpredictable. Maybe win the CMO or maybe run like hell.

Outside lights and motion detection lights are good. Rational criminals might be deterred by lights...maybe. Desperate or crazy people could care less. They'rer coming in. Technology is good but not going to cure insanity.

Correction CMH.

You still spinning that yarn? Getting real old. P.T. Barnum would be proud though. Your imaginary wife had a imaginary stalker. Now the stalker had an imaginary hammer. What happens in the next installment?

Sounds like some sort of globetrotting uberslut golddigger. But I would not be surprised a Canadian would bring a hammer to a gunfight.

Man...why so angry all the time? Do some Tai Chi or smoke some rope or something. Life's too short.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Well...let's see. I'm recalling the postings you made on your first day back on the forum. Insulting us with the "RUB good ole boy network" sideways comment. And then you immediately attacked some of my posts that had nothing to do with you. You clearly came back to pick-up where you left off...being a trouble-maker.

You quickly followed up with that silly challenge to Kip's maid photo. Then you insulted eekee for now reason at all, You're not a moderator, forum policeman, or even someone with status here. You left for a long time and you gave up any senior status as far as I'm concerned.

I think you need the Tai Chi "DAWG."

Our Attorney General gives Mexicans guns...drug lords no less. Maybe you could sell some pot and get a full auto AK for yourself. No questions asked.

I have a semiauto AK. LOVE IT!!!

I wish the government would've bought it for me though. Where's my public option rifle?

He takes his imaginary gun with his imaginary CCW and defends his imaginary current family.

Can you imagine?

Good luck with that.

Very possible. Which is why it's important to use common sense and not intentionally attempt to place yourself in that fight/flight situation.

Exactly my point. If someone sneaks in... they may or may not mean you harm. If someone busts in your door, they're already violent.

 Since Charles informed us that UK women are big breast champs, everything has changed!

If I posted over on the UK forum, that would be my focus. For instance, do the English have "wet t-shirt contests?"

There's no acceptable reason to come in my home with ANY criminal intent. In the dead of night, an intruder is an intruder and, fortunately, I don't live in Ohio. My state view is if they come inside you can defend yourself. If they come in the bedroom...fire at will. I don't know have to know someone's intentions or what's in their hand or pocket. I'll add that I believe some criminals start off as simple burglars but once inside, they go off and change their agenda. Their adrenaline is pumping too. If a woman or children are inside, and there a sick puppy, who knows where that could go?

I'm an infantryman...still. You come into my LZ, you're in for a bad night.

Just because some women from the UK have big breasts doesn't mean I need to go to their forum. There are plenty of boobs right here.

I didn't know such a state existed. Please post links or at least let me know where I can find that info. Every state that I know of has a provision that you must reasonably believe you are in danger before using deadly force.

I've definitely never heard of the "bedroom exclusion" that says you have a free fire zone the minute they cross the threshold.

On all these points I'm not disagreeing with your position (I'm with you, actually) but legally speaking, I don't think you understand the law. If you were to go into court with the "him or me" mentality or "he was in my house at night so of course I shot him" you may be found guilty of manslaughter or worse. A simple change to "I thought he was armed" and/or "when I spoke to him he came at me with some object in his hand saying 'I'm going to kill you'" and you should be just fine.

I'll add that I believe some criminals start off as simple burglars but once inside, they go off and change their agenda. Their adrenaline is pumping too. If a woman or children are inside, and there a sick puppy, who knows where that could go?

Exactly why it's important to assess the threat BEFORE taking action. Someone in your house may not be intent on doing you harm. Killing them for simply being there isn't right. "Well they shouldn't have been there." I'm not disagreeing. But that still doesn't make it right.

Remember that pharmacist that shot the armed robbers who came into his store?

He's in jail now for executing the one that was on the ground. Reason? He was no longer a threat. You're basically telling us it's OK to shoot people who don't threaten you. Like I said, I don't disagree with your position of "if they're in my house they're getting shot" but I also believe it's wrong to shoot someone who's not a threat to you and the law (in your state too) agrees with me on that point.

From an article from my state's media.

"Thinking that a man was trying to steal something from his yard, the homeowner fired twice at the man's pickup, hitting it. One of the bullets lodged in the man's head.

The city's top prosecutor determined that the shooting was justified, saying XXXXXX feared for his life and his wife's when the man dived into his pickup. The homeowner said he couldn't see the man's hands, and what if there had been a gun in the truck?

A newspaper reviewed reports of several similar cases in recent years. In most, prosecutors did not file charges against people who shot intruders. When prosecutors do file charges, the cases go to juries that often are sympathetic to the shooters."

Satisfied?

I never go over there. I could be tempted if they'd post some wet t-shirt pics from Merry Old England. Remember, England has the "top tops." Thank you Charles.

"The man feared for his life." Good enough for any jury. And mandatory in any court.

Average cup size is a D, isn't it?

That's pretty respectable. Until you factor in the average weight.

Yeah, his sin? Doing it with cameras. I don't have an issue with the "Coup De Grace." He saved the state money. "Live by the sword...die by it."

Ask our resident expert...Charles.

Weight can be good or bad. The beauties of the fifties were more voluptuous and "bigger" than today. I grew up in the 50s!
