2 Kan. brothers killed in shooting near barbershop

LEAVENWORTH, Kan. —

Police say two brothers were fatally wounded outside a Leavenworth barbershop and found more than a mile away in a car that had crashed near a local park.

The victims in the shooting, which was reported around 6 p.m. Friday outside First City Barbershop, were identified as 25-year-old Derrick Jones and 28-year-old Marshall Jones of Leavenworth.

Derrick Jones died at the park, while his brother was taken away by air ambulance and pronounced dead at the University of Kansas Hospital.

Police Chief Pat Kitchens told KCTV (http://bit.ly/uKExKl) a third man found in the car might have been trying to get the brothers to a hospital when he crashed the vehicle.

The driver was interviewed at the scene, and it appears the brothers were the only ones injured in the shooting.

OK, gun enthusiasts and warriors, what is your recommendation for a 9mm home defense auto handgun. Let's but a $650 cap on the price tag not including shipping, tax, ffl, etc. Not able to buy a Wilson Combat auto for $3000. Ability to conceal carry is a plus but my focus is on home defense.

Alla saw a guy with one at the indoor range the other day. Her intial reaction...

"Vooowhat is it?" I told her and she watched him bounce that light all over the place and was shooting worse than she was and said, "It really does not make you shoot better" She asked the guy why he used it and he said "For home defense" Alla said "Really? How big is your house? In my house you could see someone right in the same room with you about 2 meters away, maybe 3, not more"
