Hello, I was hoping to get some recent airline reviews for traveling from the USA to the philippines.

I noticed now many USA airlines are operating under the flag of All Nippion and China airlines but being operated by a USA airline.

Just curious of others recent experiences. I have flown Delta and Asiana in the past and Asiana is a whole differnt world, but now prices on non usa airlines seem to be getting very high. Just curious what others recent experiences are.

I flew Philippine Airlines and I liked it but the word in the Philippines that it is not as safe as Cebu Pacific. I have heard this time after time and when I booked her a flight to meet me in Manila, she suggested Cebu Pacific. They seemed fine to me but I think they had a lot of pilots quit in the past and maybe they are low paid. It is run by the government I think.

As far as flying from the US to the Philippines, I flew Delta last time because they were always the cheapest going to Manila, there were plenty of flight options and I had no problems with them.

Ever notice that Delta and all the other carriers which fly from the US to the Philippines always have a prior stop in South Korea, China, or Japan ? I wondered why ???? They never fly direct to the Philippines and then leave from there. I wonder if this is because the Philippines does not have the quality of service and training that these carriers expect to work and refuel the planes.

Air travel is very safe overall but I would pay a little extra and fly an American based Airline if I have the money.

It is because they don't have the permission to fly directly to PI from the US. Only Hawaiian Air and PAL can fly directly from Hawaii to Manila. I think there is a direct flight from the west coast, but they have to stop in Hawaii to refuel sometimes.

I just got back last week.

I flew Delta from Florida to Atlanta which was nominal. From Atlanta I flew a 747 on Korean Air Lines, which was very nice. Those folks will FEED you like crazy! I went from Atlanta to Seoul which is a very long leg, but with the electronic entertainment systems, time went by fairly quickly. Then, after a 3.5 hour layover in Seoul, it was on to Cebu. For that leg, I was on an A320 without upgraded electronic entertainment and that 4.5 hour leg was tougher.

The return trip on KAL was even better. The plane this time was a 757 from Cebu to Seoul and then I flew on a 777 for the final leg from Seoul to Atlanta.

May your visa journey be smooth and speedy.

United/Continental is an option from the US. Depeding on where you fly from you will be able to connect out of Japan (via a partner airline like ANA) or connect out of Guam via Honolulu. If you connect out of Guam there is no layover. You'll get off the 777 out of Honolulu, and get on the 737 to Manila. Hope this helps.

You Right!! There is a Flight from the West Coast Directly to the Philippines from LA, San Fran, Las Vegas and maybe some other West Coast citys but those are the ones I know about. and also you right on PAL, and Hawaiian Airlines. From West Coast citys like you said, on Hawaiian Air you have to fly to Honolulu, then on to Manila!
