RECEIVED RFE NEED HELP!

Hi well the long wait ended up with an RFE from Vermont Service Center. The RFE stated that my fiancee and I need more evidence proving our relationship between the period of August 20, 2009 and August 20, 2011. The RFE asks for things like copies of passport stamps, travel itineraries, affidavits from friends and family and also photos. Seeing that we both live on the US-Canadian Boarder here in Buffalo, New York our passports do not get stamped when we drive across the boarder to see each other nor would we need air travel to spend time together. I have put together 4 signed affidavits from friends and neighbors saying that they have seen us together and that they know that we both travel back and forth across the boarder. (About five days or so a week we see each other). I also have a few photos (About 5) of us during that timeframe. We as well went on a cruise to the Bahamas the first week in November of this year and I have plane tickets and photos from this. Is this enough for the RFE? Am I worrying too much? Any help would really be appreciated!

Only 5 photos, what about the cruise? Your evidence seems reasonable to me. I think other Canadian / US relationship members should share their facts and give you a better idea.

I am new here but I wonder what you send with your I-129F. Did you send them photos? Did you send them copy of tickets? Did you provide them with some proof when you send I-129.

Logically to know if it is enough proof need information on what was send.

Send it anyways. Send anything you can to prove it, its harder when you don't get the stamps and can travel such a short distance and just cross the border.

When the initial packet was sent, i sent in 4 photos of us from my cousins wedding. Printouts of both our Facebook pages for proof of an ongoing relationship. Also two statements from us telling the back story and our intent to marry.

I'm guessing that the affidavits would have to be enough, since you don't have any stamps.

I hope some people who've had this experience (border crossing) can chime in.

Anything that would prove that you were on her side of the border?

Restaurants if you went out to eat. Places you might have gone together (example: I sent a photocopy of tickets for a tour we went on together that corresponded with some picture we took) . Did you get her an engagement ring? A receipt for that could be good.

These are all secondary evidence. But I'm really not sure what you can do without the stamps.

If they're not asking for it in the RFE though, I wouldn't bother. ... unless you have an engagement ring. I'd include that receipt.

Yeah i figured that it would be easier to prove just because of the distance i never thought that not having those stamps would be an issue

you can also send bank statements showing that both were in the same city/same dates.

If you have credit card and used it in Canada the statements might help as well (if you do not have receipts)

Send them more pictures of you together if you have (As long it is not same pictures that you send them before)

Thats the thing we have been together since April of 2011 and stated this in the original filing so I am not sure why they said a two year period.

Two year period is the time frame for everyone.

Perhaps wait a few days to see if anyone who's had an experience similar to yours to respond. If not, send in what you've compiled.

If it's not enough, the good news is you can reapply. The bad news is, it's more waiting. But the plus side is, at least you can visit her often with a simple drive across the border.
