Then onwards to Yorvik 30 miles away to see the best cathedral in the history of the world (credits to Mitt) and to get a real Cornish Pasty made with turnip and white pepper

It's a low class environment harking back to the starving Irish at the famine time in the mid 1800's who set up a tent city there in the Irish Fields. Still many Irish names in the town. Now here's the interesting thing

The linguists argue about whether the language was already Germanic when Julius Caesar (not the dog trainer) arrived, but CHEVWYN is Welsh for 'ridge' and the ancient british language was the fore -runner of modern Welsh

So Otley Chevin settles the argument - that a Celtic language was used then and not a Germanic one

Then to silence the anti-celts, the Brythonic word for hill was 'DON'

Within 6 miles of Otley is Baildon, Yeadon, Rawdon etc - all towns on the top of hills

So this small area confirms that the Celtic language was used there and it wasnt always germanic
