Just checked our status online and it still says "Initial Review" ^__^;; Nothing regarding the RFE or approval or card production... I guess we'll just have to wait until the GC comes in the mail

The online status says:

On August 13, 2012, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Just got another txt and email a while ago saying USPS picked up my card from USCIS and that I should receive it within 7 days!!! Yay!!!

Wow!!! That's wonderful - I will definitely be watching our mailbox from today until Saturday We haven't had any mail delivered for 2 days (I LOVE getting mail, LOL) so it will be extra special when the green card comes LOL

We're so excited to have my new green card (since my old one expired months ago, LOL!) that I finally gave in and called USCIS to ask for the tracking number...especially because it's been raining a lot here lately and we don't want it to get wet in the mailbox. Expected Delivery tomorrow!!! ^________^ I will be watching the mailbox like a hawk!

Fatima. my husband got the email that his green card had been picked up by the USPS on a Monday and we got it on the Wednesday. I also told our mailman that we were expecting a very important document from the USCIS, and I wanted to make sure it got delivered (especially since we had issues before with mail from the USCIS).

I think I actually scared our mailman today because when I heard him open the mailbox door (we have a jumbo mailbox because we get a lot of packages from online shopping), I went running for the door! I felt a little sheepish so I waited inside our sun porch before I came out to get our mail. hahahaha. Good thing our mailman already knows us (he actually has the same name as my hubby too!) and always makes sure our mail is safe.

We are on a similar timeline since we also received an RFE that was issued on 7/19 - it must have gone out the day I opened the service request. Our reply to the RFE was received on 8/2. I have not yet gotten the approval letter, but the same e-mails and texts that you mentioned. My card was mailed to me on 8/16, so I am just a bit behind , but will be checking my mailbox for sure. I will update the approval date when the card has arrived.

I've read about some people here on VJ who never got their approval letter and just got their green card in the mail, some got their approval letter with the green card while some even got their approval letter AFTER they had already received their green card. ^__^;; BUT if you've already received the emails and texts, that means you're already approved so don't worry if you don't get the approval letter - your GC should be there soon!!!

Oh and if you want, you can call USCIS too and ask for the tracking number! They'll transfer you to a Tier 2 Immigration Officer who can give you the tracking info
