Also, I forgot to post the actual text of the RFE! The first page was the generic blue notice that states the deadline and the second page lists the documents they're requesting.

We're supposed to return the original RFE notice right? Not a copy? (a little confusing because it says to "Save this notice." at the bottom).

I would sort it by type first (ie:utility bills or bank statements all together) and then by year. I believe we put the oldest on top and just went in chronological order, but I think either way (reverse chronological) would be fine. They are looking for proof spanning your marriage so it is good to include old proof as well as more recent evidence. You're right that the notice is confusing. I think you are supposed to return the original letter, but I would make a copy for your records. As I am not sure about returning the original, hopefully someone with experience will answer as well. I agree with Menina. Fatima, I know you're always on top of things but remember to keep a copy of the RFE if you're sending the original back. At this point, arranging each group of evidence chronologically will be better, IMO. As for what document comes first, start with the really valuable ones like the tax transcripts, LES, report of marriage and so on.

Fatima, I have to second everything Menina and Calypso said. I organized our documents in different categories and by year. I believe I put the most recent documents on top (date wise), but like Menina said I am sure either way is fine. I have some sort of OCD or it might be the teacher in me, because I even color coded all the documents (e.g. financial statements on blue paper, travel tickets and boarding passes on green paper etc). I am sure it was unncecessary, but in my mind I just wanted to make it as clear and comprehensive as possible.

And yes, if you are sending the original RFE, do make a copy for your own records. Never hurts.

I definitely have the IRS transcripts on top, military docs next, then the utility bills, bank statements and all other less important documents at the bottom Jim also took the time to highlight our names, addresses and dates on the documents he found so I'm following suit (he usually leaves the organizing and highlighting to me but I was stressing out so much and he just thought to surprise me --- even though he's having an incredibly busy week at work!)

Calypso and menina, I think we'll do it chronologically like you said ^___^ It seems like a much better idea because they'll see that we actually do have stuff right from the beginning of our marriage.

Hedi, I LOVE the color-coding idea! I didn't do that (I only have blue paper and plain white paper at home) but I did color-code the highlighting - yellow for names, orange for dates, etc.

I'll have to check around the site and see what other people did about the RFE notice and I'll call the Help Line too. Lately it seems like they just give very scripted answers - not very helpful at all! The last customer service representative I talked to just read the online status to me (same one I could see when I logged in to my profile) when I asked for an update.

Another thing, should we send Express Mail or Priority Mail? With Signature Confirmation or without? The packet is definitely not going to fit in the regular #10 business envelope they sent so maybe I can just tape it to the envelope we're sending the packet in?

Your husband is so sweet. I'll send it through Express Mail so it arrives faster. I think it matters less whether you add signature confirmation or not since you have the tracking number anyway and you'll get to see online when the packet gets delivered. That said, we actually sent ours in January with signature confirmation but most posters here mentioned they didn't. It's a smart idea to tape the business envelope that USCIS has sent.

Just a quick update: Since I haven't heard anything since the biometrics appointment, I called the Customer Service Center. I was able to open a service request and was told to wait 15 days for some type of response. Guess I can stop checking the mailbox as often as possible...at least for a few days .

The ROC date has been updated to September 19, 2011 for VSC filers. Funny cos 50% of October filers have been approved...lol

The USCIS website doesn't even give a specific date for CSC processing but just indicates that the default timeframe is 6 months. Most CSC applications recently have been approved in 5 months though. I hope they keep going so we'll all be happy.

Hello everyone! I'm about a week late with my update. On july 14 2012, I received my approval letter in the mail. I wasn't expecting it in my mailbox! I was thrilled! Then the following monday I received my 10yr GC!
