Unfortunately, this is not unusual. While we were able to see our case online once it was received, nothing has been updated since. We had biometrics and an interview during that time, but it still says initial review.

Hello friend,

You guy were wrong ,you should have on line your case any way .Here FYI, WAC.......... for your ID

Hello everybody,

I sent my package on January 17th. A week later I got two envelopes in the mail: GC extension letter and biometrics appointment. I did my biometrics on February 8th and now I am waiting.

My concern is that I can not see my case status yet, the web page says "case not found" (I tried using both NOA and biometric appointment receipt numbers). Are you in the same situation? Should I give them a call or just wait?

Thank you!

Hi friend

Hello guys, my husband completed his Biometric on 3/2/2012 and we can't check the case starus on line since then. We call their number and 1st CS send us to the 2nd CS. He told us no one should see case status on line because the information is very confidential!!!

He ask if my husband receive the 1st Note Of Action, when we said yes, he told us we should be good for 1 year, USCIS will mail us the 10 years card with that time!!!

Is this normal with some of you too?

Oh well, I am so sick, I hope my typing is Ok because my Iphone is look so small, sorry about that.

Hey everyone,

I had a small issue last night and needs anyone’s suggestion/advice.

When I was trying to head to Seattle yesterday for a business trip I was stopped by TSA when they noticed my Driver’s License was expired. Then I showed my Green Card which is also expired. Luckly I had the extension letter with me which allowed me to go through.

I was not as successful when I tried to get my rental car. The driver’s license was expired and no other document helped me.

They won’t let me renew my DL if I don’t have my CG apparently… How can I drive from/to work and make it on my regular trips without any valid document????? Should I get an INFOPASS and see what they suggest me???

Looking forward for some responses. Thanks

Because you have the extension letter your state DMV should renew your Driver's License according to that 1 year extension date. They will make copies of your old GC, extension letter and take your old Driver's Licence and provide you with a new one. In Georgia they give you a temporary one for 45 days then the original one is mailed out later.

It is true some people dont see their cases online. I can see mine but it is of no help it's still under Initial review. I guess the only thing ewe can do is just wait and see. You can try to check again about a month after the bio and see if you can log in and see your case. Something weird happened to my account.. before the bio I was all signed up and tracking after the bio.. my case wasn't visible. I signed in today and had to re-register my EAC number to my account and it showed up again as initial review.

To check the case status online you need the number from the biometrics appointment letter. They took mine at the appointment and then I had to call uscis and they gave it to me. Still nothing has been updated.. not even biometrics are shown as completed. They did however told me on the phone that they have been completed. They also told me it takes up to 1 year to get your green card ;_;

I just went to renew my driver'e licence yesterday and they accepted the letter and extended it with a year. I think it really depends on how knowledgeable the people behind the counter are. Some know more than others, and they are able to help. I got 1 year extension. I am traveling next week and was worried that I will not be able to rent a car, but hopefully things will be fine now.

Feeling discouraged today. It has now been two weeks since our interview and nothing. I want to believe that not hearing anything is a good sign that nothing is wrong, but I just want to know why it is taking so long to give a response. I read some other threads on here about people who waited months after their interview only to find out that their file was lost in a pile on someone's desk. It makes me nervous too that our case was not logged in (at least doesn't show on the online system). Does the local office even know who has our file? I don't think USCIS will do anything for me if I call since it hasn't been the standard 30-60 days. I know everyone else is in the same boat; it just worries me to have had an interview at all and then not have any response from them yet.

I'm very sorry to hear that menina, I would also feel very frustrated if I was in your place:( But I agree, no news is good news..I think that if they needed anything else from you, you would have already heard from them. will keep my fingers crossed for all of us who have already been through so much with this process. I am also getting nervous for our interview on wednesday. I do not have a lot of new evidences to show other than last month's bills and our income tax return. i am just praying that our IO would be nice and friendly for an early wednesday appointment at 8:00 am:P

Good luck!! I think you have enough new evidences. It is basically all that we submitted as extra evidence. Our IO did not seem to mind. Our appt was pretty early too at 9:15. I hope you are right that if there were something wrong we would have heard by now. Maybe you will get an approval at your interview, and the waiting will be over. Let us know how it goes. We will be thinking of you on Wednesday. :)

Hey all!

Been a few weeks since posting; hope everyone's journeys are going smoothly.

Saw a few posts saying they've not been able to find their status online and just wanted to mention that I had the same problem, until I used the receipt number from biometrics appointment (this had changed since receiving the ASC). Maybe this was stupidity on my part but just thought I'd mention it in case others had done the same!

Also; my wife went to her biometrics appoint and I'm honestly not too sure about the outcome. Apparently they were having a problem with the scanner that day and they had tried 10 different times to scan her fingers. They were eventually able to get one hand scanned and matched up but not the other.....

No way I'm paying another biometrics fee just because they were having internal problems with their scanners but just thought I'd mention it to see if there was anyone else that had this problem.
