Hi everyone,

So..I just received a letter today from uscis for an interview on march 21. The letter says to bring my spouse with me plus original and copy of all the other docs we have submitted before. I am really so stressed out about this:( Menina, did you receive a white piece of paper (as opposed to the usual green notice of action paper that they send us?). Just curious if that is the standard thing they do for a request for interview or am I being singled out for something..i dont know, like i said, this whole process is just stressful. I would appreciate any feedback or tips from you guys. thank you very much:)

Sorry to hear that... :( You can send PM to Menina and ask about it ;) Updating almondmilkgirl's interview.

Time is flying by can't believe it's march and my bio is Monday!!!! Yikes! My husband is coming with me,what ID does he need, just his MN drivers license or should he bring his passport??

I believe any government or state issued ID will do ;)

When we went to my Bio appt, I gave them my GC. They asked me if I had a state issued ID - I said I only had a temporary one and was still waiting for the actual card to come in the mail and they said the GC was fine ^_^ I did bring my Passport and Military ID just in case though :)

Yes, it was just a white paper. I was really surprised, but it was a real interview letter. Sounds like you got the same one. It said to bring evidence obtained since filing our petition. Well, it was only about a month later so I brought our latest bank statement and utility bills along with more letters from family and friends. Basically, the interviewer asked for the same things I had already submitted. I gave her the additional things. It seemed like she hadn't reviewed our file yet as she was looking through it for various things while we talked. The interview was easy--mostly questions about finances and joint property. We are still waiting, however, for any kind of a response. No touches (since filing in early January), no RFEs, nothing at all. I really hope we hear something by next week. It seems like most people with interviews here back about 2 weeks after. Good luck to you!

LOL! I'll do that right now! ^___^

One of the reasons I haven't been online is because my hubby got me a new laptop and I've been setting it up. I've also been doing a little early spring cleaning LOL - we had 2 snow storms and haven't gone out since then but the snow is finally melting!!! Yay!

It's good to know that you are having fun even with occasional storms. I hope it gets better for you in the warmer seasons. star_smile.gif

I'm not into geek talk but when it comes to notebooks, I really love MacBook Air. My husband got one in August last year and I used it for a few weeks. I fell deeply in love! Luckily, Apple took $100 from most of its products on Black Friday last year and I only hesitated for a few minutes before giving into the urge of purchasing my first MacBook Air. Definitely a fantastic investment!

May things work well for you and your husband. Please remember to narrate your experience 10 days from now.

I gave my state ID but the guy also asked for my green card. I guess it's safe to bring two IDs.

Thanks Calypso. I don't know what I would do without the support of this group. A couple of years ago there was a couple in the same situation as us (called for both AOS and ROC interviews) at the same local office. They were approved after 12 days of waiting, so I am hoping that next week will be our magic number. Monday makes 12 days.

I am with Menina thanks to Everyone here for your support, I feel more confident about my process, I just wished I joined earlier when I first applied for AOS, luckily my appointment was done in 15 minutes, the lady didn't ask for much and we were approved so fast! So I'm hoping this ROC will go smooth as well! Is always great to have support from many people! Not that my husband doesn't give me any, he has been so wonderful through the process but it's nice to be able to chat with other people as well! :) good luck to everyone!

Hey everyone,

I had a small issue last night and needs anyone’s suggestion/advice.

When I was trying to head to Seattle yesterday for a business trip I was stopped by TSA when they noticed my Driver’s License was expired. Then I showed my Green Card which is also expired. Luckly I had the extension letter with me which allowed me to go through.

I was not as successful when I tried to get my rental car. The driver’s license was expired and no other document helped me.

They won’t let me renew my DL if I don’t have my CG apparently… How can I drive from/to work and make it on my regular trips without any valid document????? Should I get an INFOPASS and see what they suggest me???

Looking forward for some responses. Thanks

Had Bio appointment today in St Paul, MN, very easy process... Was there about 20mins early filled out a sheet (name, dob, a#, recept # etc) all basic stuff that's on the Bio appointment letter or GC anyway. A nice little family in front of me, and that was it, I was out again before my appointment time :) can't complain about that!!!!!

Brindallas - agggh nightmare, hadn't thought of the rental car business!! I have a business trip next month.. For some reason though my DL doesn't expire until 2013 I guess each state is different. I would get an info pass appointment.. There must be something they can do! That's crazy...

What state do you live in? This happened to my friend when She tried to renew her license however, She requested to speak to a person higher that those people who work at the window, and explained that the NOA paper meant that She was legally here and green card was extended for another year, they took a copy of the paper and they said they will verified this with uscis then send the driver license by mail and they did. You should contact the DMV office in your state and tried to speak with someone higher, I mean it's your right as a lawful resident! You have been granted extension therefore they should not deny your right to driver license. If they feel a paper is not enough they can contact uscis to confirm your here legally.

Hello everybody,

I sent my package on January 17th. A week later I got two envelopes in the mail: GC extension letter and biometrics appointment. I did my biometrics on February 8th and now I am waiting.

My concern is that I can not see my case status yet, the web page says "case not found" (I tried using both NOA and biometric appointment receipt numbers). Are you in the same situation? Should I give them a call or just wait?

Thank you!

I'm right with you, applied on jan 10 and still my case is not found.

Unfortunately, this is not unusual. While we were able to see our case online once it was received, nothing has been updated since. We had biometrics and an interview during that time, but it still says initial review.
