Back from my biometrics appointment. Thankfully it went very quickly... the place was half empty and smelled like a school gymnasium. The women than did my finger prints and photo reallllllllllllly rushed me and had a very thick accent so I couldn't understand a word she said. Considering where I was and what I was doing. She made me take off my glasses which bummed me out... the last time I didn't, so I look all demented and squinted in my picture. I am sure she would have done it again, but I didn't want to ask as I felt hurried enough as it was. I am ALWAYS amazed at just how crazy that finger print machine is, and how you can see it all close up.

Got my biometrics letter, 31 days after my NOA1 :) Letter is dated 2/23/12, appointment date is 3/22/12. I won't be doing a walk in this time around, it's a little too far to drive to be told I can't do it, plus my work schedule is a bit crazy right now.

when can one file for naturalization? is it three years from marriage date or three years from the time you first got your Green Card approved?

After three years of being a permanent resident. For example, I was married February 20, 2010, and got my green card April 22, 2010. I am eligible for citizenship as of April 22, 2013.

Actually it's 2 years 9 months :) since you were granted permanent resident. So you can apply for citizenship 3 months prior your 3 years but you will not get your naturalization oath until after the 3 years, but at least you can begin the process :)

Ah, yes, my mistake. Just like ROC, apply for citizenship as soon as the window opens, if you like :)

I had my biometrics taken last Friday (2/24). The ASC office is a 5-hour drive from our place so we decided to stay at a hotel close to ASC on Thursday evening, good thing we did because there was a snow storm in MI last Friday and road condition was really bad. The hotel where we stayed is just about 5-minute drive to ASC. My biometrics went very smooth. I had a 12:00pm appointment, we arrived at 11:20am and were out of the ASC at 11:30am. The office was not busy at all. There was one family who was about ready to leave when we came so as soon as I was done filling up the form, my biometrics was taken right away. My husband was so pleased that it went very smoothly. We had a nice meal at Red Lobster afterwards and did some shopping (he got me an iphone :) yey!). We ended up staying in the hotel for another night because my husband did not want to make a long drive back home in the middle of a snow storm, and since we had a little more time to spare, we went to the casino close to where we were staying and I ended up winning $145 on a slot machine :) It was funny, I was asked to show my ID at the door and the guard was shocked when he found out I'm 41

I know this is far from being a viable indicator but October 2011 applicants have been receiving approvals recently.

I hope things keep moving really fast for us all and that we'll either get approved next month without interviews or start getting an interview notification then receive our 10-year green card. Here comes March.

Yay this could be good! I hope they are using the high fees we pay to hire more staff, and get the ball rolling!

SOrry to disappoint you, but unlike Calypso, we are both Vermont filers. CSC is already on Oct applicants while Vermont is still chilling with the June applicants....a freaking 4 months difference!!!!!....how annoying!...
