As of this morning our checking account shows a pending debit from "VSC FIELD OFFICE PAYMENT," so it looks like our NOA1 is on the way!

As an aside, the electronic debit thing annoys me... back when I filed the I-129F for my then-fiancee's K-1, I was able to get the receipt number from the online check image well before the paper NOA1 showed up in the mail. No more, apparently.

Our check shows up as converted into EFT payment by CSC Field Office as of today but posted in account for the date of 01-23-2012. As Stephen+Elisha said, I also don't understand why they can't do it like before with the I-129F, when I was able to read the case # off the check image. But its good news that our check was cashed, now waiting for the NOA1...

we put I-751 for (My Name) and my alien number on the memo portion of the check, not the back....and it was cashed fine.

We did the same: I-751, my hubby's full name, and his A# was on the memo portion of the check and it has been cashed.

Don't worry! We weren't able to track our case until after we received our ASC Appointment Notice. The NOA actually has a note at the bottom that says to use the Application Number on the ASC Notice to track your case, not the Receipt Number on the NOA.

Sorry must vent.... I've send a package to USCIS a few days ago (10th of jan) and finally on the 17th they signed for it and REJECTED it... The notice says they've not received payment!!!!

However 2 checks (one for 505 and one for 85) were included.

After a phone call with the national service center.... it turns out that your alien number needs to be on the back of the check, otherwise they deem the check "invalid" and therefore they tick the "no payment received" option on the reject letter.

Ah well, lesson learned, will resend my package tomorrow with the check containing the alien number. Fingers crossed they'll accept in a few days.

In our case, we just made sure that our check (just one check for $590) was securely attached to the front of our packet - we used two paper clips to attach it to our cover letter. We didn't put my A number on the Memo portion or on the back of the check, we just wrote "I-751 filing fee & Biometrics fee". It's very likely that the 2 checks you sent got separated. Did you receive your whole packet back with both checks or just one of them? It might be a good idea to just write a new check for $590. I hope that helps!

I did, I sent 3 affidavits... 2 from our close friends and one from my neighbors. I did this because I do not have a lease, so I thought this may be a good thing to have. They can always help.

Don't worry, I think they try to send it within 30 days of your NOA. It might be because there are no available appointments yet at your local ASC? If you still don't have a Biometrics notice after 30 days, you can call USCIS and put in a service request.

Did they send back your original checks as well? I would cancel them just in case if they didn't!!

We finally got our NOA! While today is the 24th, it's actually dated 01/18/2012. And the wait for the biometrics notice begins....! Happy to move this forward.
