My Husband and I will be sending our packet out by hopefully Monday the 23rd. His Conditional Residence expires on 3/17/12 and I am really anxious to get this going. I am nervous about not using a lawyer this time as I used one last time but she seemed to be a complete waste of money even though our goal was acheived. We should have no issues but we did have to have the second interview last time which really freaked me out. Is there any reason to use a lawyer in this case or is it considered to be simple enough???

Hurray! Our check was cashed today (showing up as 'processing' on our bank account)!

I think that as long as you have strong evidence of a bona fide marriage, you should be fine without a lawyer :)

What kind of evidence are you sending with your packet? Also, are there any special circumstances - major things like criminal history, stuff like that?

I think that as long as you have strong evidence of a bona fide marriage, you should be fine without a lawyer :)

What kind of evidence are you sending with your packet? Also, are there any special circumstances - major things like criminal history, stuff like that?

No special circumstnace but we do seem to lack pictures we really didn't do much that was picture worthy and when we did we never thought of getting a picture of us together. I think this was a stupid lack of comprehension on our part but we have lots of normal proof of a life together. Leases and bills plus a few event and movie tickets stubs.

No special circumstnace but we do seem to lack pictures we really didn't do much that was picture worthy and when we did we never thought of getting a picture of us together. I think this was a stupid lack of comprehension on our part but we have lots of normal proof of a life together. Leases and bills plus a few event and movie tickets stubs.

From what I've read, pictures aren't considered primary evidence so as long as you have a lot of evidence showing co-mingling of financial assets (joint tax returns, joint bank accounts, joint credit cards, joint loans, etc.) and communal residence (lease / mortgage, driver's licenses with the same address, bills, other documents that show you live at the same address), you should be fine ^___^

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

Hi everyone! I'm a newbie here on VJ. I was looking online for tips about my I751 and saw this group thread so I joined in:) Yes, I agree, it's great to have a support group for people filing their I751s. Esp. a big help for me who went through a difficult time with my first application (the IO visited our home AND interviewed us separately on our interview date--but in the end, I got my conditional after all). Soo..time flew by fast and now its time to file I751. Here is my timeline so far:

Jan.9: sent application via UPS with signature confirmation

Jan 11: application recvd (at CA service center)

Jan 20: recv NOA in the mail

that's it so far!:) will keep you guys posted. Goodluck to us all:)

yes, I would recommend that you send them a copy of both your birth certificates. I had a friend who filed their I751 and they got a letter requesting for a copy of the citizen's birth certificate. In addition to this, I would just also give them a copy of your marriage license, driver's license, and divorce papers. Although they have this already from our initial application, I would just send it again to avoid ANY chance of them asking for any additional evidence from you:)

24th January 2012: Biometrics NOA date (received 30th)

19th January 2012: Check cashed by VSC

17th January 2012: NOA date (received 20th)

14th January 2012: ROC delivered via USPS to VSC

13th January 2012: Filed for ROC

Earliest date to remove conditions: Friday, December 2, 2011

9th March 2010: GC in hand

1st March 2010: Interview 8.40am APPROVED!

1st March 2010: EAD arrives, along with daughters US passport

15th January 2010: Biometrics appointment

10th December 2009: Filed for AOS
