My hubby and I are preparing our I-751 packet and we're planning on mailing it on the first or second week of January. :)

I just wanted to start a thread for fellow January 2012 filers so we can help each other out - answer questions, give each other support, etc.

Good luck everyone! ^___^

We will be doing the same in January. Hard to believe it has been nearly 2 years...We get the added wrench of being in Italy during the whole removal of conditions process. At least the Passport office here (they also do immigration stuff there) seems pretty knowledgeable about it.

Hi Fatima!

Thank you for starting the thread and giving me a heads-up yesterday.

Looks like this is gonna be a bigger group since non-K-1 people in our batch are also lifting conditions.

May we all have a smooth and speedy new journey! luv.gif

I can't believe it's been 2 years either =') I think I read before that it's not that much different filing overseas? Can you do your biometrics there or would you have to fly back to the U.S.?

I'm a little nervous about the I-751 because it's been such a long time since we put together a packet, the last one being the AOS, and I feel a lot less organized than I was before. We moved to a different city and even though I had been putting together all of the stuff I thought we would need for the I-751 during the past 2 years, I feel like I probably lost or misplaced something during the move @_@

Fatima! It´s great to see you again! I was hoping for some familiar faces in ROC for January. We will be sending our packet first week of January. I have almost everything together, but like you I feel nervous about including everything that is necessary. I thought this time would be less stressful since there is only 1 form and I have been gathering evidence for the past 2 years, but it feels even crazier. I hope we are sending enough evidence--just followed the guides here and included some additional stuff in the packet, so crossing my fingers. Hoping that biometrics doesn´t interfere with college class schedule, but maybe we can do an early walk-in if that is the case. I hope things are going well for you and your hubby. Merry Christmas to you both!

Ok, we knew this was coming up here in 2 years.However I have not done much studying about it. This is basically for all marriage visas right? As of right now we do not plan on getting naturalization for her, but the 751 has nothing to do with that right?

Yes, if you have a 2 year green card, you must remove conditions in order to receive your 10 year green card. Even if you don´t intend to do naturalization, this step is necessary.

It's so great to see you guys again! ^_^ I hope we all have speedy approvals!

It does seem like the I-751 should be easier to file because it's just one form but its approval depends on what attachments we send right? I even remember the USCIS officer who interviewed us for our AOS saying that as long as all of our documents look good, we might not need to have an interview for ROC :)

What other documents are you planning to send as evidence of relationship? Right now we have:

* tax returns

* bank account statements

* life insurance policy

* boarding passes / travel itineraries from our trip to the Philippines

* affidavits from friends

* pictures with family and friends

What else can we add?

I´m sending utility bills in both of our names, mail addressed to both of us, copies of joint credit cards and health insurance cards, DL with same address, rental agreement. Basically anything that has both of our names and addresses on it. I have heard that the tax returns are the most important. Of course we won´t have the 2011 one ready when we file since it is so early in 2012, but hopefully that will be enough. I have a friend who works in immigration law who said it is rare to have an interview for ROC. We already had one for AOS, so hopefully we are good to go.

I almost have our packet complete (for some reason, I got really motivated today, New Year's Eve. ^_^ Now I'm just waiting for our latest bank account statements and need to get pictures printed :) I'm also STILL thinking of more stuff to add...you can never have too much evidence / supporting documents, right? :)

I looked over the instructions and it only says to send birth certificate(s) of child(ren) born to the marriage - I've also read that people send in copies of sonograms in case they haven't given birth yet. Hope that helps! :)

We are planning to mail our packet on Wednesday ^_^ How are you sending yours? USPS?

We've decided to print our pictures at home and now we're running low on ink, LOL. XD

I think we'll be sending our packet via USPS Express Mail with Return Receipt - can you add Signature Confirmation to Express Mail?

I believe you can add signature confirmation. Sometimes it delays things by a day since they have to wait for someone to come sign for it. By delay, I mean you don't get the delivery confirmation from USPS for an extra day. Planning to send everything in tomorrow.
