My wife just called me from the Embassy, and she's been approved! I never thought I'd say that, at the rate things were going...

She arrived at the consulate 30 mins early. (I told her she had to be there an hr early so she can make it on time)

The lady at the 1st window was short with her, she sat and waited a few hours. She was the very last interview. There was 2 officers that were conducting 20 minute interviews, and 1 officer who was quick and friendly.

She asked "when were you married?"

"where were you married?"

"Why did you return to colombia after you got married?"

"Over this last year and some months, how have you been in contact?"

"Has he come to visit you?" (then my wife presented the ticket itinerary but it wasn't necessary)

She shuffled through some pictures of us, and approved the visa with sufficient information.

She said it would take a max of 20 days for the visa to arrive, do no purchase a flight until you have your passport in your hands.

I can sit here all day, naming names. But thanks to all of you guys. I'll spend these holidays without her, but I can say it will be a bittersweet holiday this time around. And whoever is still truckin through the process, best of luck and I hope things pan out.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
