My husband had his interview in Islamabad, Pakistan. I am copy pasting the letter he received on the day of his interview. For those who are in AP or their spouses are in AP, is this what the letter looks like? My letter says that he is ineligible to get the visa, does that mean he is denied or just put into AP for now?

I may be totally wrong, but it looks like he's denied due to health issues and financial issues. So the AP is if you apply for the waiver. I don't mean to be intrusive, but does he have a contagious disease? Do you have a co-sponsor? I'm sorry you're going through this. Call the embassy or email them and get more details.

Good luck!

No, that's the standard AP letter. I got one similar to that one however the wording for AP was slightly different, it differs from embassy/consulate.

Just do what it says and continue to call/email/harass the embassy/consulate and the Dept of State (through their phone number). My best wishes to you and hope that you do not endure an AP longer than a few months.

Yes, this is the standard AP letter, that everyone gets, although they have a highlighted more concerns than they did on my fiance's letter. You are not rejected, just possibly rejected later, and just have to wait to go through AP now. They have concerns including standard AP issues, health issues, and becoming a public charge. Not sure how long this will take, but Pakistan usually has some of the longest AP waiting times.

We've been in AP almost 7 months now, and be prepared, it is a long, emotionally draining, non-transparent, terrible process.

Good luck and wishing you a speedy AP.

Regarding the health issue, he is completely fine and healthy. He is only 21. The CO officer actually congratulated him saying that he has passed his interview and he was joking and playing around with my husband. Everything went pretty normal...thats what I don't understand. I am calling the Islamabad embassy tonight. =(

this is so depressing. Good luck to you guys too!! I hope we get through this really fast!!!

I call them every other day and they dont tell me anything. Its worst when the representative named "Geneva" picks up...she knows me now and is always rude and hangs up. ^_^ I guess i'll email the embassy to find out.

Thanks alot for all the reply guys...=)

what was actually 'ticked' on the AP letter?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
