The worst period of waiting....

I hate this period of waiting... the period where I am expecting the NOA2 to happen any day now and it never seems to come. Now I see so many August filers getting NOA2 approvals and I am still waiting on mine from July. I am even becoming envious of the August filers that are being approved

Sigh.

If this helps any, I am an August filer and I am still waiting. I hope it comes by the 5 month mark. Good luck to you and I hope you get an early x-mas present ( like NOA2 tonight)

We are in the same situation. We are July filers too and have not received the NOA2 notice. It's going on 6 months already.

What's so wrong about this is that both of us are squeaky clean citizens of our respective countries. It seems that this K1 process is wrought with lack of rigid standards. What they are searching for is beyond understanding. Neither of us are bad people!

To say the very least, it is disappointing to have our future together, our love and devotion, our desire for mutual prosperity, placed in some waiting mode at the hands of a government agency.

Every single day is torture. I see Igor's list say they are processing applications from a week after mine and it eats me up. Every single time my phone buzzes with a new email or text message, I jump but it never comes. It is like 100 moments of disappointment every single day. I get so sad and depressed. I want to call my honey but I don't want to depress her too. Very sad...

I filed August 25th and I'm getting jealous of September filer approvals (Vermont). December is one of the biggest holiday months for the government. Just wait till January. Let's be optimistic !

Not trying to throw flame on the fire guys, I would never do that, but its so odd how some people, like Diana and I, we were Sept 6 filers and we were approved on the 28th...it really is dumb how it makes no sense on how they do these, it should be first come first serve.

I pray you guys get yours asap..god bless and much love to you all.

Have your information all together. I would say to expect an RFE. They may be missing something they cannot locate, or maybe a background check is taking a little longer. Call the USCIS and ask specific questions on your case. Does the adjudicator have it? What is the current process? is there a request from the ajudicator? Is there a form I need to file? Can there be a status request made? How long has the case been at USCIS? Is my case still in normal processing time or outside normal processing time? Ask specific questions on the case, not general questions of why is it taking so long? Be very ,very specific on your questions. Best of luck, let me know how the call goes.

There is something about the NOA2 wait that was the worst for me. You have zero transparency into the process, and you know that it's just a matter of semi-random chance before an adjudicator gets to your file. I watched Igor's list and noticed that CSC stopped doing K1s for about 2.5 months. It was miserable. Then they picked up again in October, and then eventually one day, as I was out walking my dog (one of the few things that kept me sane), I got the text message.

After that, there are more milestones in the process that give you some semblance of progress; or perhaps it is just because it gets relatively faster, but I find it much easier to deal with. My case got held up for 2.5 weeks at NVC for AP, but even that went quickly in retrospect. She now has her interview scheduled, and I have a ticket to go see her a few days before. So, it's moving. Maybe it's like being in traffic moving at 5 mph vs. a dead stand still.

Hang in there, you'll get your NOA2. And a few months from now, you'll just laugh at this nonsense. Some will say life actually gets harder when your fiance arrives, and I can understand that thinking, but for me, I just want to be with her. I don't give a ####### about any future paperwork or fees, I just want to get on with our life.

Sorry to hear that we have been waiting for about 5+ months now and the only response I can get out of them is that they are still working on July 10th but I see Aug postings.

I will travel to Colombia for a third time in since June in about two weeks to spend time with my baby in Santa Marta for a week and Barranquilla for another.

We should all hear something soon... Happy New Years!!

Waiting for the NOA2 wasn't that bad for me. I never had any doubt the petition would be approved. I knew it would still be months after receiving the NOA2 before my wife would be able to come to the US, and I knew I would still make at least two more trips to see her before then.

The worst wait for me was the five hours I spent standing across the street from the consulate in Saigon. That was the longest five hours of my entire life. :(

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!
