It happens fairly often. Make sure she brings a copy of her marriage certificate with her.

I thonk you should call your air carrier and ask about this. In which name will the ticket be issued in? They want to reconcil that the name on the ticket natches the pictured ID. I am not sure if the air carrier will accept the marriage license as proof.

The airlines tend to throw a fit on the return leg when the names don't match. Tickets have to be booked in the passport name. Flying is not a problem - its the check they do when they determine if you are eligible to enter the US when you are issued return tickets to board the flight.

We had my wife's name change was recorded in the passport and stamped by indonesian immigration before her K3 was ever issued. STILL we have had a hassle getting her through that check even with the name change recorded on the 3rd or 4th page with a big official stamp. There is always some supervisor required and a big discussion before we can get our boarding passes issued.

Her new passport thank god has her name change on the main page - everythings a match now.

ALL are advised to get passports officially updated if a lot of overseas travel is expected. We have been in and out a lot and until the passport was permanently changed on the main page we got hassled about the different names every time. Even the fckn K3 was issued in her married name and the airlines can't seem to get it right.

Your best bet is, as advised, the marriage cert, green card, and passport and still a hassle can be expected (not on re-entry, but getting on the flight home).

Good luck!

i don't get it.
