Hi VJ,

I'm a Canadian from Toronto but I'm in India till the first week of Feb and I have to get a police certificate. My wife is applying for my visa, and I'm already at the NVC part and already filled out my DS-260. However, I still don't have my police certificate from Canada; I called RCMP Toronto office they said since I'm away I would have to get fingerprints and that might take 3 months time minimum. The guy on the phone was extremely helpful and told me that I can have my sister go to Toronto police department and get a name/birth certificate check and get a police certificate that way (maybe).

Is that a acceptable police certificate by NVC and Montreal consulate for my Immigration visa?

Please help and let me know if there are have any other solutions or problem's in this scenario.

Thank you VJ for reading and replying :)
