Got this from USCIS Page

  • For applicants under 14 years of age:

    • Filing with the I-485 application of at least one parent have a fee total of $635;

    • Not filing with the I-485 application of at least one parent have a fee total of $985.

Hey guys my friend from seattle brought his kid with her and her question is does the boy needs to file green card too and the fee is the same as AOS for k1 which is 1070 .

My kids need to pay $1070 each, they are 14 and 18 years old..Same fee and process like K1

TIMELINE

I-129F sent - 03/09/11

NOA1 - 03/25/11

NOA2 - 05/23/11

Interview date - 08/10/11

US Entry - 09/22/11 POE - Minneapolis/St.Paul

Married - 10/07/11

AOS/EAD Filed - 11/01/11

NOA1 - 11/04/11

Biometric Notice rec'd- 11/09/11

Biometric Appointment - 12/07/11

AOS transferred to CSC- 11/28/11

EAD approval - 01/09/12

EAD on hand - 01/17/12

GC Approved - 03/09/12

I remember reading this at the USCIS page but then wondering why some said they paid the exact same amount as the k1's for AOS ... crazy confusing :(

Either because the K2's were over 14 years old, or because they didn't know any better and just paid the full fees.

To the OP - read the pinned thread about K2's. It will explain the differences between the K1 and K2 AOS procedures. They are very similar but not identical. Read the entire thread because some things have changed since that thread started, and those changes have been mentioned in the thread.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!
