Hello Every one!

Merry Xmas and all that great stuff!! I need your help and any suggestions on AOS

1. Oct 13 My wife to be arived in The U.S.A. (K-1 Visa) I-194 exspires on 1/13/2012

2. Married 11/11/2011

3. Pregnant Confirmed by Doctor on 12/19/2011 10 weeks old and everything looks great! GAve us a letter and etc to give to Civil Surgon

4. 12/21/2011 Made appointment with Civil Surgon to get waiver for Vaccines Because of Pregnacy, My wife had Physical exam done in July of 2011

before entry to U.S.A. everything is ok just no vaccines. She has the brown book with the stamp and doctor signature Her photo and all the

results. The Civil surgon said he had to give her a physcial to fill out form I-693 He wrote a letter and says she can not get the vaccines

until after the birth of child

5. He wants to give her another Physical Exam

6. I talked to three others her who told me just dont file for AOS until after the Baby is Born then get a new physical and all the shots

They said I would get a RFE anyways becasue it would be incomplete and have to spend more money later

7. So should I just send off our AOS with out the medical and include her brown booklet and letter signed form Civil Surgon the says she is

pregnat and can not get vaccines at this time. Or should I just wait to send off Aos until after the Baay is here.

Thanks for any input

'giving a physical exam' at this stage is really stupid - that civil surgeon (or his clerk) got it wrong.

The waiver letter is useful.

study the I-693 again - mostly, it's a transcription of the shots, not a physical exam.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I am not trying to be rude when I say this so please don't get offended. At the time you said her pregnancy was confirmed, she had been in the US 9 weeks (and 4 days) but she's 10 weeks pregnant... I don't know if USCIS will do the math but in the event they do, you are asking them to believe that she got pregnant on day 1, OR they might wonder if she was pregnant when she got here.

You should make sure you get confirmation (as much as you can) of her conception date so that if they do question it, you're not running around chasing your tail. Conception date isn't exact. In fact my sister was 8 weeks and due June 17th, and on her second scan they changed it to a week less and due June 22nd. It's not an exact science. Hopefully USCIS understands that but if you have other red-flags they might make a deal out of it.

I must agree I feel like the same The other two civil Surgons I talked wiht suggested the same to wait to file AOS I think I will send it in with out the medical and just the letter and Proof of Pregnacy then If i get a rfe go from there We dont feel we should take any chances with our new childs life. It was planned to the date only did not think about AOS ahead of time

Pregnancy is calculated from last menstrual period. 10 weeks pregnant = 10 weeks since last period = 8 weeks of conception meaning she would have gotten pregnant around the end of October or beginning of November.

That's not to say they won't be questioned on it - I was, even though my husband and I had been together a year when I got pregnant, and the IO did not know how pregnancy dates were calculated and told me my conception date was wrong.

Was that civil surgeon designated by the USCIS? If so,for me i will just send that waiver the civil surgeon gave, and a copy of her vaccination record.

If you would like to wait till she have the baby,i dont think theres a problem with that too, unless you want her stuff done..

Congrats to both of you..And God Bless!

Again, the civil surgeon is wrong - ANOTHER PHYSICAL EXAM IS NOT REQUIRED.

What is required, though, is some new shots.

However, the shots can be waived by USCIS if the I-693 is filled out by a civil surgeon, transposing the yellow shot record book that she brought from China, and him giving a letter requesting a waiver on the remainder of the shots due to pregnancy.

It'll be 50/50 on the RFE for the complete shot updates, but I say give it shot (pun intended) .

Congrats on the pregnancy! My wife and I are trying again during CNY.

Warmest Regards..

Len,

I'm a little confused :)

What exactly did your wife receive in China? You mentioned a "brown book with the stamp and doctor signature Her photo and all the results." I think that's what most people call the yellow book?

Here's a list of what my wife (then fiancee) got for her k-1 vaccination in China:

  1. A white sealed envelope marked "USCIS Vaccination". According to the medical administrator in China, the envelope holds a copy of her official DS-3025 for AOS. (She did her medical prior to her interview, got a bigger sealed white envelope which she turned in during her k-1 interview. After her k-1 interview, she went for vaccination and got the smaller sealed envelope for AOS.)
  2. A copy of my wife's DS-3025 for her personal records.
  3. A yellow booklet "International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis" with my wife's passport photo and vaccination records identifying the shots she received.
  4. A white sheet titled "Appendix C Vaccines To Complete for Adults" listing doses she received and when the next doses should be given (booster shots)

For AOS, we sent the sealed envelope (DS-3025) along with photocopies of items 2 and 3 above. She did not get any booster shots nor see a CS for the I-693.

If you're having issues with the CS, perhaps you should just send copies of what your wife was given in China, especially if she has a DS-3025. From what I've read, a lot of people got approved with just the DS-3025 received at their k-1 medical.

Congratulations!! You must be very proud to be an expecting father!! :)

Civil surgeons have different opinions. Out of three we were only able to find one that would do a "supplement" I-693 just for vaccinations. It was $35 dollars to do the transcription of the vaccination record we gave him from our primary care physician.

My advice would be to find another CS or as Bobby says if she has the DS-3025 just submit that.

Congratulations and good luck!

Thanks for your Input;

The booklet she came with is marked Certificate of Health Examination for International Travel Entry Exit inspection and Quarintine She had ex rays blood work and etc all for her physical as needed before her arrival she did not take any vaccines at all they also gave her a white sheet like your wifes Vaccinaton work sheet whic show no vaccines were proven, so I think that you are thinking about a diffrent book. I think I wil have a better ideal what to do with the help from everyone here, even if we get a RFE it is in the works if you know what I mean Two other civil surgons have told me I should just wait But I dont like that Idea and problems it could cause

Thanks LEN And Yaqin

Len,

Thanks for clarifying. I learnt something new today about the booklet Yaqin received :)

If it helps, I'm quoting Nich-Nick who said "You could get any shots you need from your wife's doctor, or the Health Department, or a Redi-Cinic in Walgreens, Duane Reade, or a grocery store, or the Civil Surgeon. Find where they are the cheapest. Every place sets their own prices so call and ask. Then all of the different shot papers have to be copied onto one form (I-693) by a Civil Surgeon."

I've read DS-3025 and I-693 threads to know that many, including myself, were confused. Nich-Nick seems to be very knowledgeable in this area.

With so many people having issues with CS, I would advice future k-1 beneficiaries seriously consider getting vaccinations at the Guangzhou medical facility. They seem to know what's required for AOS.

Yes, it's not a big deal if you get an RFE. Just deal with it if it comes :)
