Ron Paul is a moron and this whole mess he has gotten himself into is proof.

He's in his 70s. Having a history of thinking racist thoughts is a lot more common in that age group than it is in Americans in their 20s and 30s.

I wouldn't vote for the guy (because he's too freakin' old and has no history of deal making in congress) but I do think this 'controversy' is a tad unfair.

Unfair maybe but he is in politics; he knows how the game is played. These newsletters generated some serious money and he was paid. How can you be in politics and not know to stay as far away from stupid ####### like this; he has only himself to blame.

and which candidate do you support Simpson?

I don't really care for any of the candidates but if I had to pick a poison I would choose Newt. A bad personal record but when it comes to the issues he is pretty reasonable.

Newt used to think a mandate to buy health insurance was a great idea... until Obama made it his idea, then the idea became massive suck overnight.

Yeah Newt is all over the place... Kinda like the drunk chick at the bar, you think she is going home with you but you can lose her to someone else at any time.

Ron Paul gives a response:

Ron Paul quits CNN interview after being asked about racist newsletters

Texas congressman and Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul ended an interview with CNN after he was questioned about a hate-filled newsletter that was published under his name.

The newsletters were published about 20 years ago and contained a number of incendiary comments about African-Americans, such as referring to Martin Luther King Jr. Day as “Hate Whitey Day.” All of the newsletters featured his name, but Paul has said he did not write the racist language.

“So you read them, but you didn’t do anything about it at the time?” CNN reporter Gloria Borger asked him on Wednesday.

“I never read that stuff,” Paul responded. “I became aware of it probably ten years after it was written, and it has been going on for twenty years that people have been pestering me about this, and CNN does it every single time. So when are you going to wear yourself out?”

“I didn’t write them, I didn’t read them at the time, and I disavow them,” he added, when pressed about the issue.

After Borger continued to question Paul about the newsletters, he started taking off his microphone and ended the interview.

Paul told CNN on Tuesday that the racist newsletters had resurfaced because his policies were winning, and it was the only way his opponents could discredit him.

All these pathetic attacks by the establishment rats, which btw includes also ####### like Newt Gingrich, against Ron Paul are actually good news. It means that these corrupted up to the bones bastards are getting nervous and anxious...I hope this nation will be smart enough not to miss this train. There won't be many other RPs in the future, for the happiness of the bipartisans sheep who still believe that primitive carbon-based forms of life like Romney or Gingrich are actually worth something not just as politicians but as... creatures...

Gingrich Plummets in Polls as Voters Start Remembering Who He Is

Dawning Awareness Threatens Campaign

DES MOINES – In a development that has imperiled his front-runner status in the Republican presidential race, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has plunged in the polls as voters have begun to remember who he is.

Mr. Gingrich had been surging in recent weeks, but according to pollster Davis Logsdon of the University of Minnesota’s Opinion Research institute, “That was before people’s memories of who New Gingrich is started gradually kicking in.”

According to a new poll released today, Mr. Gingrich fared especially poorly among voters who agreed with the statement, “Wait a minute, that guy? He was an enormous #######.”

“Newt Gingrich has got to do something fast to keep people from remembering who he is,” pollster Logsdon said. “He might try growing a moustache or wearing an eye patch, but that might be too little, too late.”

On the ground in Iowa, Gingrich campaign strategists are working overtime to confront the challenge posed by voters remembering who he is, aides to the former House Speaker said today.

According to one campaign source, the Gingrich campaign has begun seeking the support of people with mental disorders and other memory issues that make it hard for them to retain basic information.

“The problem is, most of those people are currently running for President,” the source said.

In other political news, the Romney campaign unveiled a new slogan today: “You’re Out of Other Options.”
