does anybody know how nvc reassign a case?

hey vjs..

i asked nvc to reassign my case from china to canada..but 3 weeks later, when i called nvc . the operators told me that my case is still under review.

so i just wonder does anybody have the similar situation with me before.i mean when got case number and then requested nvc to reassign the case to another country?

when i asked operator when my case will be done, they told me no time frame

so upset/

does anybody know how nvc will process the case?

i didnt talk to a supervisor..cuz i was engaged in my final exams..

beside, my husband's english is so sux ( he was also a chinese before) that i am afraid he couldnt handle with it.

btw..when i used my case number and invoice number i got before to log in the payment website. it is shown signed in fail..

i imagine your case number will change with the embassy

yep i called nvc and spoke with operators almost every business day and . their replies are almost same :" still under review"

really drives me crazy/...

What do you mean by reassign ? Change the embassy or country of chargeability? Why do you want to reassign ?

yes . i want to change the embassy

cuz when i filed i 130.. my current address in that form is in china (at that time, i spent my summer vacation in my homeland)

but i came back to canada to continue my study ( i am an international student in canada)

since i live in canada now, thats why i want to change consulate

How did you ask NVC ? By calling, mail ?

and then called to operator everyday to check the status..

For me, I just emailed (maybe 3x) stating the reason why I want the embassy changed to another location. Then NVC emailed me the new case # with the correct embassy.

so it wasn't 3 weeks of waiting.

it was 3 weeks of prepping for final exams instead.

got it.

nvc still open now, till 23:59 EST. call in, get a supervisor this time.

i had the same experience........

my husband was student in ireland so we requested to change the consulate to dublin..............first time when they sent our request to tht consulate it didn't work because his student visa for ireland was expiring before 6 months but second time my husband has the visa for more thn next 6 months so it wworked and we got new casee number but it took a whilE TO get it...............GOOD LUCK TO U
