Congrats!!! I know you have been waiting along time to get approved like I was. The procedure will go real fast now like it has for us. Our paperwork is already in CR and awaiting for my fiance to pick them up this week. If all goes well she will be here by next month as well as your lady.

Congratulations! I know you have been waiting a while like I was. So far the procedure has gone real quick since we were approved. Our paperwork is now in CR. Just waiting for my fiance to go pick it up this week. I hope to have her here next month.

Yes, it was a long wait, but now the hard part is finally over.

Fresy called the panel physician today, she is going to have her x-ray and blood work done tomorrow (they will do these without a San Jose case number). She will have her physical as oon as NVC gives me the case number and she will call the Embassy to schedule her interview the day we receive the NVC case number.

My hope is to have her on US soil by January 15 or so.

Best of luck with your interview! Be sure to post the interview review and tell me all about it (but I have 3 friends from VJ that have gone through San Jose and ALL said the Consulate is very nice to deal with (as long as all your papers are in order)...

How much did the lab work and the xray cost and how soon was she able to get it done? My fiance going to get the packet #3 tomorrow.

How much did the lab work and the xray cost and how soon was she able to get it done? My fiance going to get the packet #3 tomorrow.

Hey PuraVida...

Lab work was about $30, X-Ray was $40. Fresy was able to get those done without having her SJO case number (actual medical exam is about $60 and requires the SJO case file number). She was able to schedule her medical exam for Jan 4.

Don't forget, your fiance will need 3 photos for the Medical, X-Ray and Lab and she'll need 4 photos for the interview.

As soon as your fiance receives her packet 3, arrange for the medical exam. The lab work and x-ray can be done immediately, but the panel physician was about 10 days out for scheduling the actual exam.

Don't forget your fiance needs to have her single certificate and police records (Fresy was able to walk in and get those the same day).

The Embassy is currently scheduling interviews about 20 days out, you should be able to schedule yours by January 15. Allow 4-5 days after the interview for the visa to be printed.

Fresy is flying from SJO to Ft. Lauderdale via Spirit Airlines. She departs at 2:11am and arrives Ft. Lauderdale at 5:50am. Non-stop and Ft. Lauderdale is a very easy POE. I'm hoping she'll be here January 20th.

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
