Hey,

For you guys that did not attend your spouses interview in Vietnam, did you guys have submit a letter of some sort that explained your absence??

Thanks, Long.

I can't due to work, and I'm not sure what to have my supervisor state in the letter in case the consulate asks why I couldn't make it...

To quotes a movie, “So how does it happen, great love? Nobody knows... but what I can tell you is that it happens in the blink of an eye. One Moment you're enjoying your life, and the next you're wondering how you ever lived without them.” I felt I found something with Kieu that is rare in life... true love.

No need for a letter or anything, the petitioner is not required to be at the interview. I would suggest that you have a time line and 10 year residency notarized and send it to her in case they ask. She should also prepare a 10 year residency as well as a list of her relatives in the states should they ask.

You mean if they ask in the blue sheet?? Or would they ask at the interview??

Some people have gotten them to accept a timeline and 10 year residency at the interview. It's been a while since I've read anyone who has done that. I frontloaded that stuff in the petition.

Anyway, if she tries to submit them at the interview and they are rejected, and she gets a blue slip for them anyway, then at least she'll be able to respond to the blue slip without waiting for you to send them.

so for the beneficiary's 10 year residency, can I create it and sign it here or should my wife sign it and get it notarized in Vietnam??

They usually ask for both. One for you notarized here and one for her notarized in VN.
