Your Welcome. Yes you can attach the two together. Do you have 1 other to prove birth? We had to send 2 additional proof of birth. Here is some info we were referred to by a USCIS rep.

Go to this link: http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_5455.html?cid=9176

Scroll down to birth certificates.

If you have more questions send me a message on the back line. That way I get a notification. I dont always check VJ regularly or you can send me a message on facebook. We are friends. Sheree Mens.

I dont have time to search through the threads- but someone DID post an RFE, don't know the rest of the case but it had to do with a copy of the certificate...It might have been on another site too- there are other sites I looked at. I rather be safe then sorry. I am writing about my own experience, thats all- isn't that what this site is- we say what we did, it works, so we suggest it....If I took everyone's advice on this site I would not be in the great situation Im in. You have to do your own research and your own reading of official documents.... I have had no problems with anything in immigration due to being too PREPARED- so I rather go through this process and not deal with RFES (I got one for a missed check box way back). After the ####### in Ghana the many of us went through I rather be prepared and organized so that we can enjoy our lives together and not have to worry about things.... (Don't want to sound like a negative nancy here- just speaking from my personal experience of taking my own responsibility).

I got multiple copies and it may just be were i live, but you have to send it in (for some changes) and then get it back - I rather know I have one copy I can keep and if they screw up they screw up... Ghana can also be complicated to deal with, so thats why i also got multiples as well. At my city hall its cheaper if you buy a group of them then having to go back if its is destroyed...

thanks Midge i appreciate. ya is better to get more prepared than get an RFE

Each embassy might be a little different and i have seen Civil Surgeons across the board insist on different stuff. Vaccinations and a check x-ray done out of country, in US you will see another CS who will review for our AOS, he added a brief exam, TB and blood test. See the VJ guide http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide The bottom line is find a good CS who will do it right and you will pass the medical at USCIS.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

But another exam, TB tests and blood work are not required. You do not need another medical and the tests that go with it if you had your medical overseas for the K-1 interview within 1 year of filing for AOS. It states this clearly in the instructions, which are the same for all K-1 visa holders regardless of which consulate they came through. You only need to have your vaccinations up to date. If you had all the required vaccinations at the time of your K-1 medical, you do not even need to see a civil surgeon. Just send a copy of your DS-3025 vaccination worksheet you received from your medical to show them you had all the required shots. They already have a copy of this with your medical records from the sealed envelope, but sending another copy of the vaccinations is a gentle reminder that your vaccinations are complete. If you received vaccinations after your K-1 medical, or you still need to get some, then you need to see a civil surgeon to get your remaining vaccinations and have the rest of your vaccination records transcribed to the I-693.

Note: the I-693 forms have changed in October (i think) so that could confuse some civil surgeons.

They were insistant on us getting a physical also. About 5 people said so, but we argued that we did not need one. There is a small paragraph in the instructions that you only need the first page and last immunization page if you already had a physical for the K-1.

In the end, we convinced them that it's our own money and time, and we'll take the risk of not having a physical. Also, the staff was a bit incompetent, and they did not originally fill out the entire immunization sheet. We noticed it and had to take it back to make sure all the boxes were checked properly, and that the Vaccination OK box was checked too.

Always double check other people's work. Just to be safe.
