Hey Sheepp, I'm happy for you!! Congratulations!!

I have a questionnnnn, or questions I guess...

My case was forwarded to the embassy on December 14th. So, what happens next? Do I need to keep calling to see if they've received it the way I did with NVC? How long after they receive it do they send the packet out? Annnnd, how long after they receive it can I schedule an interview date?

I know some of this is country specific, but can you help? Thanks and congrats again!

:dance: YAAAAAAYYYYY !!! So happy for you !!! I actually signed into VJ today, to see how your interview went. My gordo will be so happy whne I tell him. He is sooooooo nervous about the interview, which is not anytime soon anyway, lol :clock:

Its funny how we dont know you, but everone on VJ is so supportive of each other anyway !

By the way.....have a safe trip !!!!!!

Thank you very much! I think it depends on what country the beneficiary is, but I will tell you what we did and I hope it can help you :)A week after the embassy got my package I called and asked if they already had it in the system, they told me that yes they had it and gave me the date of my interview and I asked if I could go and get the package 3 and 4 (that in my case they give you all together) I went to pick it the next day and that same day scheduled my medical appointment :) thats all. In my country they schedule the interview in some others you have to schedule it, you are very close to the final of the journey to be with your love and thats GREAT, every step is great and is a step closer! good luck!

Thank youuu!!! I appreciate very much how supporting have been all of you and how helpful and it is great to find other people from your country that is in the same boat and I can tell you that happily the embassy here is not rude or a bad experience at all. My fiance told me when I was nervous and we talked before the interview, "Just be yourself, forget all teh advice, forget everything, just tell teh truth and be yourself" and I did that and it was great, because I could express how much I love him in my answers, they were not exagerated, but they were real, not trying to be more serious than what I am, not trying to say more than what is truth. And I am SOOO happy with the results that I cant express in words how great is to feel that you can go and be with your love and enjoy life together :) good luck and keep me update of your case!! :) and say hi to your gordo jejejeje

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

09/15/2012: Got Married
09/26/2012: Mailed I-130 from Nigeria( delayed by customs)
USCIS stage ( 66 days)
10/12/2012: NOA 1
12/17/2012: NOA 2 (case was transferred to NYC office 11/27/12)
NVC stage ( 20 days)
01/08/2013: Case # and IIN assigned ( file arrived NVC mail room 12/20/12)
01/09/2013: AOS invoiced and paid, DS-3032 emailed and mailed.
01/16/2013: IV invoiced &paid. AOS & IV mailed in one package(arrived 01/18).
01/28/2013: Case complete!!!
04/19/2013: Interview; APPROVED!!!!!
05/13/2013: POE; JFK

N-400: (3 months and 12 days)
Filed N-400 : 2011-06-17
Interview: 2011-09-27
Oath Ceremony: 2011-09-30

IR-5 for Mom Entire process took 5 months exactly
USCIS (22days)
mailed I-130 : 2011-09-30
NOA 1: 2011-10-03 (text & email)

Case entered and # assigned: 2011-11-18
NVC Case COMPLETED: 2011-12-07 ( 43 days from NOA 2 and 65 days from NOA 1)
Interview Date(Lagos): 2012-01- 23 Mom was late for interview
New Interview date: 2012-02-29 : VISA APPROVED
