Hi guys,

My fiance insisted to get my vaccinations all done at Chong Hua hospital here in Cebu. At first I disagree with him coz I heard that the vaccinations is included in the medical fee at SLEC. But in the end i had no choice but to do it as what my fiance told me. He just wanted to make sure that we wont get delayed for the medical exam. It really costs this vaccination a lot and I was just worried with all the costs and dont want my fiance to be broke of all the expenses in this process so as much as possible if we dont need to so we wont do it but he really insisted and somehow I realized that he has a point. So here we are doing it. I got vaccinated with MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)last friday and just today got 1st shots of Hep A and B. After 2 weeks ( Jan 2, 2012) I need to go back in the clinic for my shots for Tetanus and Pheunomia. And on the 3rd week of January next year exactly a month after my 1st shot for Hep B is my 2nd shot for Hep B and a shot for influenza. The doctor told me that the costs of my vaccinations might be deducted from my medical fee at SLEC. Is this true? Did anyone of you guys experience the same situation as mine? Thank you.

You will pay the same fee regardless of whether you receive shots or not. Do not forget to keep your vaccination records to show st.lukes and for aos.

They will shoot you again if they are not satisfied with the evidence that you present. It was really kinda silly to spend the time, money and effort on vaccinations when the price is included in the St. Luke's 9,000+ php. Might as well make it complete and have a chest x-ray also, that's included in the exam at St. Luke's also. :bonk:

Hi dirtsquirter, It really costs my fiance a lot with all the vaccinations, but I am still thankful that I have all the vaccinations for my health sake. :) I actually told the doctor about the chest x-ray but he told me that I will be doing it again in St. Lukes.

Why would you guys pay extra for the vaccinations that are included in the fee you'll pay for the medical at St. Lukes?

So what was his logical point for wanting to pay for something that is included in the medical fee?

St. Lukes won't give you Hep A, Hep B, and pneumonia shots, so it's good to get those done elsewhere.

St. Lukes usually gives MMR and Tdap, so you didn't need to get those done elsewhere.

You really didn't speed up your visa.

I thought of the same thing as well - getting shots done in advance. But my husband told me that the vaccinations were already included in the medical fee. You just end up paying double.

Well, he just wanna make sure that I get the needed vaccinations. Good thing I started my Hepa A and B shots. I have found out that I had never vaccinated with these until I had my titer.

I guess St. Lukes gives only Hep A, Hep B, and pneumonia shots to immigrants applicants only and not for non-immigrants. I think K1 applicants are good as "returning" that is why they did not give those shots.
