Just because you don't read it in the mainstream news does not mean that everything is alright and nothing is being done. You can find a number or articles on local newspapers in Texas and Lousiana about the damages and the steps being taken to restore and clean up the mess. You could also try reading scientific magazines and peer review journals to keep up to date on the latest news about the gulf.

Pipelines would eliminate the need for so many Gulf based rigs. Eliminate the need to transport oil by ships which can have spills. Land based oil, Nina. Good grief.

I don't really have an opinion on the pipeline as I don't have all the facts. As to that article, I was supplying it per the request. I don't really have an opinion on the oil spill either with the exception that haliburton and or BP clearly screwed up.
