It's called "Big Brother is Watching" in the US. Regardless of how benign was the original purpose, the current usage far from innocent.

Dunno. I got the same uneasy feeling when I read the contract portion of the I-864, and realized that I could be required to report my current address to USCIS potentially for the rest of my life. You're also required to report a change of address to the DMV, and the IRS gets your current address every year. If you follow the rules in the US then the government will always know where you are.

You would be surprised to know what they can find on anyone. I had to do an expunge of my records because someone that had stolen my identity 15 years ago arrest and prison records was showing up under my name also as an alias. The Sheriff detective did a search on me and the data she received on me showed EVERYTHING possible. Even storage units, P.O. Boxes, Military records, a couple of organizations I had belonged to and even about every website I was ever a member of. (Many I had forgotten about) She was showing off of course and asked if I wanted to see my records when I was younger. Took her about 10 minutes after entering my data for the records to arrive.

You can use lexisnexis to get a pretty detailed background check on yourself to see if there is any erroneous information. It is free. Www.lexisnexis.com
