I'm not disagreeing any of that. According to the Bible the ancient Hebrew society was, with only a few isolated windows of loyalty to God, almost totally polytheist from the division of the two Kingdoms right up to the Babylonian Captivity. And while it is true that animal sacrifices were a virtually universal mode of worship in the ancient Middle East, God made it perfectly clear to the ancient Hebrews that they were not to imitate the pagan modes of sacrifice: no pigs, no eating blood, no animals with blemishes, detailed system of laws to follow while sacrificing, etc. Christ was the fulfillment of a uniquely Jewish ritual of sacrifice, and any resemblance to pagan systems of sacrifice was an artifact of those pagans having a partial revelation of the nature and character of God.

And polygamy has nothing to do with anything. Anybody who thinks opposition to polygamy is a core Christian or Jewish value hasn't actually read the Bible. The only words spoken in the Bible that come even close to condemning polygamy are Paul's stated personal opinion in 2nd Timothy that a church leader should only have one wife. There isn't actually any overt biblical reason why modern Christians couldn't be polygamists, provided that such a relationship is compatible with the sacrificial love Christian husbands are commanded to show to their wives.

Bottom line is if you follow ANY religion from present age to 10,000 BC you are following the myth of teenagers (they didn't live to be much older than 20 in prehistoric primitive superstitious idiotic moronic ages)....

Well I am a Christian and I say it is OK to display lights or anything else we choose to do so. The difference being is that I will also give my thanks and say my prayers. I will go to church also and marvel at the displays there also.

That is the most ridiculous statement anyone can say to Christians that i have read as of yet!

we are Muslim .......my father puts of lights every year to give joy to the Christians I also enjoy looking at the lights...when i was little I asked why we had lights because i knew Christmas was not our holiday.....i was told we live in the USA most in the USA are Christian there is nothing wrong with giving happiness to people

Peace, kindness, giving and tolerance should be practiced all year long....there is no harm in giving of something so simple as lights to add to the feeling of all of this even if i personally have found that most people at this time of year no matter what their faith is are more rude when shopping than any other time of the year. Just try to wedge your way out into traffic so that you can get on your way in a congested area and see how many horns and fingers you earn......

I agree with the above - however, I have removed the double post since it was also requested - but you can add the two additional points posted to the double post to the original post
