Good day all, I am pleased to announce that I am now a Legal Permanent Resident in the USA. I landed about a week and a half ago.

So, now I am back to get clarification or new information, if possible, as it relates to my situation. I originally created this thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/327538-conditional-residency/page__p__4887708__fromsearch__1#entry4887708 and wanted to know further that now that I am an LPR in the USA, what can I do to my boyfriend up here in the USA with me? I know we have to get married for me to file for him. So therefore, should we get married and then I file for him to come up? How long do we have to wait?

Also, as it relates to being able to support him 125% above the poverty line, does that mean, annually after taxes? I got a job and based on my calculations, I will be able to do so, but I would like some clarification on that, please.

He's still in the process of seeking an H1B visa, so if he is successful in obtaining one, could I still file for him after we are married and then we change his status after a period of time? Need some explanation on that also.

Any additional information and/or links to information would be appreciated.

Thank you again!

You do need to be married to file for him. As a permanent resident a visa number is not immediately available for a spouse so you would file the I-130 and then need to wait for a visa to be available for him.

The 125% thing - this is your annual income before taxes. Include yourself, your spouse, and any dependents when making the calculations.
