CSC is faster? Boy I think it's going to be slower than VSC now. Look at recent updates and you will see CSC has slowed down so much they start offloading apps to local offices.

I've submitted in early June and all I got is no update what so ever.

Yes it doesn't make sense, that usually means people are getting interviews at local offices. I believe Steve D. is misinformed still from him reading foreign scrap news.

The scrap news and the paper it printed on went to light my BBQ the very night after I read it. As for "offloading to local office", I mentioned it because mine was "Sent to local office" after I sent in my RFE in September and ever since then, no updates, no "interview" appointments, nothing what-so-ever. Called CS, checked status online EVERY SINGLE DAY.

I am not sure if it's just me having a crappy luck or what but on my end it's taking forever compare to some of you got it done in literally less than 30 days.

Oh well, if still nothing by March, N400 it is.

steve, your case is hard to understand because youve not filled out a timeline.

but reading through some of your older posts it sounds like you:

filed in june some time

got an RFE in august(?)(possibly because of a late submission of the ROC or due to a lack of evidence)

sent RFE back in september

were informed your case was being transferred to a local office

what did the RFE ask for? what did the transfer notification say?

have you attempted to put in a service request? you should nearing your 6 month mark, though seems service requests have been not handed as reliably lately. (they seem to want to you to get to 7 months. )

could just be crappy luck but seems like a service request or maybe even an infopass appt(?) would be a good idea. when you call the information line see if you can talk to a level 2 supervisor. they might be able to offer a bit more info.

Ours took about 6 months, check others timelines but it seems about 6-8 months

Incidentally Alla traveled to Canada and back several times using her expired Green Card and the 1 year extension letter, so that was no problem at all

OK so what is the problem really? when you file the I-751 you get an NOA! that extends the green card for one year, so you can still work, travel internationally, etc. So what is the all the heartburn about?

We filed ours, went for the biometrics about a month later and then about 6 months later the new green cars arrived in the mail. No RFE, no interview, nothing. I never checked any updates made any calls or anything else. What for?

Now, less than year later we have filed Alla's N-400. At this stage it is pretty stress free unless you just have to invent something to worry about. Fortunately I do not have to do that, I have plenty to worry about without inventing stuff.

I'll put my time line here.

Early June I submitted my ROC app after 10 days my GC expired with a nicely put explanation letter, a week later a NOA was received followed by Biometrics. A week after the bio a RFE was received, asking for financial and residential and "anything that can support the application" which I prepared for almost 2 months and was sent back in early September. A week later a notice stating that my "application has been relocated to Los Angeles field office for processing" and "expect an interview appointment".

Since then? No updates, no appointment notices, nothing. I have called them a few times and all they say is just wait and no update was given.

The problem? Let's just say I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. What really bothers me is the "what ifs". However at the same time I'm baffled by the long delay as all the receipt/information/request were sent to me within a week after I sent them the corresponding items.

I'll wait till around end of January. I've talked to few ppl whom has done this and half of them got their approval within weeks and half of them waited for close to a year with N400 already submitted.

Bag of mixed experiences I guess. Maybe I should've bought that Mega Million ticket last week.
