NVC can perform background check as well. Definitely they do it when they have the case before forwarding to the Embassy. The process can be delayed, if there is a name hit.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

I previously got 2 visas (G-4 and F-1). Does having had a visa constitute a "name hit" or is it a name hit only in "criminal databases"?

Thanks,

Raffy

I don't know having previous visas would cause a name hit. By the way, are you on CR-1 process or K-3 or K-1?
