Hi guys,

I have a question, I have my interview on monday and would like to know what do you think about taking my son with me to the interview? He will follow to join, so it wouldnt be his interview, he would just go with me, would it be perjudicial in any way? or would be better becuase they would be able to ask him about my relationship with my fiance? what do you think?

You'll want to check with the consulate, if he's not specifially being interviewed they may not let him in. I mean I could have brought my dad to the interview so the CO could ask him about our relationship, but obviously he wouldn't be permitted in now would he?

If the consulate allows it I think it won't hurt, but in most cases they won't allow someone to accompany you to the interview.

Hi there,i think they will let him in,i just had my interview last tuesday and i had my husband and son went with me..In fact,my 14th months son is the very reason she approved me...She did not even asked too much question about me and my husbands relationship coz she said that we had a baby together...

Thank you very much for the info, well my son is 7 years old and he is not my fiance´s son, but obviously knows about our relationship and all... would they still let him in? He is listed in the interview letter but I was thinking about scheduling his interview in about 3 months, becuase he will follow to join in july.

If he's listed on the interview letter then he should be allowed in. If you change the interview date for him though then that might change also and he may not be allowed in

Congratulations to you, but Manila is not Lima. Every VJ member needs to keep in mind that what happened at their consulate doesn't necessarily mean that it will happen at someone else's consulate. Since this is the case, taking the most conservative, cautious, risk-averse approach is typically most prudent.

Ask the embassy, si man! Or, inform them by e-mail that you plan on bringing the youngster, and unless you hear differently from them within a short time, you'll presume that it's OK. If you don't hear from them, print the e-mail of above (in which you're "assuming consent"), and bring it with you to the appointment, si man.

Well, I am sure your relationship is strong enough without the need of the testimony from a 7 year old right? I just don't see the benefit of brining him only to get to the consulate and find out that the child isn't even permitted to enter. If he has adequate care while you are away, then I suggest you go alone

Each interview location is different in what they allow, proof needed and then there is the IO what he or she wants on our case, just be prepared.

I'd ask a relative to come along and accompany him outside the Embassy, in any of the shops/cafes nearby Embassy (Centro Comercial Polo). Then go alone to interview. You can mention during interview about your son (or it might just come up) and when that happens, you can say that you can produce him in minutes as he is just outside.

With some luck, this could be his interview too!

Since you've mentioned he's the son of a prior relationship, you have secured approval/permission from the natural father for your son to be able to leave the country, correct? CO might ask about that, and/or he might ask your son is he is ok about going with you at a later time.

I surely did not say that it will happened to her what just happenesd to me,i bare in my mind that all countries or even consulate have differents rules and regulations.I was just sharing what ive experienced.And thought that by sharing it can help other people..
