I may be ahead of myself again, but it's just such a relief to be able to DO something again after all this waiting! So, here's the detail. We have approval of our I129F. I called and got the NVC case number and verbal confirmation our file was sent to Vancouver 3 days ago. I downloaded Vancouver packet 3 instructions and completed DS230 and checklist and they are ready to fax to Vancouver. When I try to get at the appointment schedule utility, I must confirm that I have been authorized by Kentucky or the Consul to schedule. I'm not about to start telling even the littlest fib at this point and risk "return to Go, do not collect $200.!

Does anybody know if it's OK to A} fax the DS230 and checklist before we are contacted to do so? B} Whether it's OK to complete the online D-156 before instructed to do so? C] if there is a way to see the appointment slots before being officially assigned? With the exception of some phone log, email and photo printing we're good to go and are looking for an appointment date so we can start some actual wedding plans!

Any guidance would be most appreciated.

Congrats!!! IMO, I would wait to fax anything until you have been instructed to do so by the Consulate. 3 days after our petition left NVC, I emailed the Consulate in Vancouver to see if it arrived, and if it had arrived, to ask if they would email Packet 3 to me. The Consulate in Vancouver is surprisingly quick in responding to emails (5 hours tops during business hours). So in the past few days they emailed Packets 3 and 4 to me and I booked my interview date. (Check out my signature below.). There are lots of interview dates open in the coming weeks (note that Woking is closed on Wed, Dec 28). Hope this helps... good luck! :)

I recieved letters in mail telling me next step. Once you have completed DS 230 and faxed it in.. then you gather all the info on the checklist sheet.. then once you comfirmed you have gathered everything, you fax the checklist in. Then they send you by mail the notice to schedule appointment, which you pay for online $350 at same time. Right now, interview dates are within a week if you choose so. I could have picked two days later, lol.

If you have to do Woking, they are only open Wed., so I did medical on Wed and interview on Thurs. (since I had to fly to Vancouver)

You know its funny too... I had all my stuff in order as per checklist, then when I had interview , they first give you a sheet on the paperwork order at the consulate, so you have to reshuffle stuff, and the duplicate of the orginal paperwork they didnt ask a single thing for.
