Hi! I am here because I have been searching online for answers to my question and I found this great forum for foreigners who needs help when it comes to US Visa.

My Green Card will expire soon this coming February 24 and my husband and I decided to file for Removal of Condition on the first week of January. Since I still using my maiden name and I want to change it to my husband's last name. What should I do to change my last name to my husband's name? Any answers and replies that will clearly help me, I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much :)

To legally change your name now you will have to file some papers at your local courthouse. Or if you are planning to become a US citizen, you can do it as a part of the Naturalization process.

Is this because she already has status? I guess I'm confused about this and should have reserved my answer. Can you clue me in a little bit about when name changes are possible?

At this point I would think that you have a green card, not a spousal visa. If you did not legally change your last name when you married, it is typically done through a court filing.

The Removal of Conditions does not involve a court proceeding. The Naturalization ceremony is a court proceeding.

Do a Google search for the name change process in your specific state of residence if you want to change your name prior to the naturalization process.
