Hello everyone,

My fiance (who is in Algeria) had his visa interview on October 5, 2011. The Consular Officer didn't state whether or not he would be given his visa but he did take names and phone numbers of friends and family. In November, the CO called all of those people and asked questions. Then my fiance was contacted and told that he had been approved and to bring his passport and a new police certificate to the embassy. That was on November 16th. Two days ago my fiance received the sealed envelope back from the embassy but his passport was missing. What is up with that? Do we need to worry? Does my fiance just need to call the embassy to inquire about his missing passport? Any input would be greatly appreciated because we are just wanting to get him here soon!

Thanks in advance

Of course he needs to contact the embassy. The embassy in Algiers is very good about responding to emails as well, but I would go straight to the phone for this one. It may also be helpful email them in addition to calling them.

When my husband picked up his package from DHL in it was the sealed envelope and his passport. If both of them weren't there, then he needs to contact the embassy ASAP.
