As per my information and much I have spoke with people here along with immigration lawyer in USA, American Consulate in ISB use different agency for background check, and also he told me that, (No offence to anyone)they put cases on hold where there is age gap between couples or marriage between White American with Pakistani. Or if you are from north in Pakistan then they do extensive background checks along with field investigation, which takes time. Rest whatever it is, but I am certain background checks don’t take this long. They just put cases on hold and see how things go.

Reading on your post really gave me motivation to stay strong and share my story

My wife had her interview in Islamabad on December 21'st 2011. Interviewer said everything was fine and needed to do some (AP). I thought to myself on no big deal few days here and there. Only to find out online that AP could take months, or years. I have now completed 6 months of AP and am hating it, i was hoping to be in Pakistan by now and bringing my wife back soon.

I have called the embassy almost every week and they just say "Processing". State Dept. has the same answer. I have now emailed my congressmen and his office say they are working on helping me out. We applied CR-1 visa, all documents and paper work were in order. Why the AP???!!!

Yeah our CO also told us our case was fine that we had nothing to worry about just background checks left to do... so from previous years it looked like maybe a 6 month wait but here we are over a year later still waiting and now I can't even travel to see him for our 2nd wedding anniversary bcos our daughter is very sick with a brain tumor and if she doesn't remain stable (she can turn at a moments notice) she will require brain surgery....this whole thing is very heartbreaking.. but we do have the red flags.. im gori he's desi... and im older...but that doesn't mean we arent genuine and real... we are very very real.... all we want is our time to start our family but how can we do this when we can't be together and they continue to keep us separated? I thought the immigration process would reunite families but for some.. it keeps us apart :(

Inshallah... the end will come for us and the AP will be over... I have to keep staying strong but it's hard to hold back the tears when im taking care of our daughter and she's in so much pain bcos of the tumor and she cries for papa... IDK what to do anymore... it hurts so much words can't even describe the pain anymore....

But we have to have faith and try to keep being strong.. our love will see this thru...

I will respond tomorrow with all the details as my husband is back on a bus to Lahore......He was interviewed 3 times and they are angry about the 2000+ pages I submitted to prove our marriage to the REF we received. They gave him all those pages to take back home. They made him sign a paper which stated I became a Muslim in 2004...I dont know why they made him state that.

I need phone numbers of who to call, who to talk too....what to do. Any and all help please

http://electedlist.com/Oregon.html

this is a list of elected official for Oregon.. if this isn't your state then tell me your state and Ill find another link...

you can contact either of the senators but for your congressman it has to be the one who represents your county..

However look at your senators contact them both if you want to but definitely the one who helps more with immigration.. i contacted both of mine and one of them seemed completely disinterested whatsoever about helping me so i went with the ohter one

As for embassy idk if you ever get thru on email or phone.. we;ve not been successful in a long time

One question I don't see people asking. Inshallah after we receive our visa. What kind of time limit do they put on it. After how long must you leave?

You usually have 6 months from the date the visa is printed

So look at the date on the visa you must enter Poe by 6 months from my understanding

Timeline

After talking with my husband they don't believe we have a real marriage.

The person who called him up first told my husband she said you are today whole(hot)topic and asked why we send all those pages. She pulled our application from it and gave it all to my husband and told him to take it all home.

A black woman interviewed him and she appeared to be mad at my husband and taunted him through all 3 interviews. She told him straight out that she was going to denial our application.

2 women had been approved while he was there and 2 men both received blue letter of denial.

It was an emotional denial. That woman didn't want to believe us nor approve us. She was pist off already because of the 2000+ pages that I sent to prove our marriage. Had she really went through all those pages she would have found that we have a real time marriage and EVERYONE around us is involved with us and our process. Both our family living it daily with us...Everyone knew of it and supported us. My children, family and friends and his family and friends all wrote letters in detail. I went into detail not to leave any questions for whom ever was going to go through those documents. Made it easy to read and coded it all so that it was easy to find what they were looking for. Supplied ALL phone numbers, addresses of each person in both our families for them to contact. Went into detail.

First of all I am a Financial Controller at a local company and I am very detailed person and keep records of everything because it is my job. I also follow through into my personal life and run it like a business as well. I never would have thought being this organized would cause such a huge issue. In fact I will fight this with all my power and knowledge and have it over turned....I am that much pist off. Pardon my language please.
