MBA2012 so sorry to hear about another AP.... this is a good group and we celebrate the blessings and support the frustrations here... welcome to the group... hopefully yours will clear soon and not be like some of ours lasting for many many months... AP is very frustrating and sad and lonely for us but we do have eachother... those that don't experience AP don't fully understand the emotional side of family separation and how much we just want a normal life beyond the pc and beyond the separation. Can I ask why they did two interviews?

Everybody, I know we only heard of one getting the Visa this week and that is worth celebrating... we are all near the end of this part of our journey so keep your chins up.. your positive thoughts and remember the waiting is worth it and true love prevails... family is everything and nothing will separate families.. not even distance.

Inshallah more of us will come out of AP soon... Have faith and stay strong!

not necessarily. My brother, relatives and some of our friends got their visa approved in two days (in 2012 and 2011) and they are all from Pakistan. They did not apply from Islamabad consulate though.

Called dos today and we are in mandatory ap processing in Islamabad still pending but they said nothing wrong with our case

I called DOS too. They told me that that last update on my case was on April 13th but it is still under processing.

During my wife's first interview the CO stated they feel that our marriage is not genuine. The reason they gave was because we did not take many pictures nor did we have a big function. Therefore they ask for phone records along with any other form of communication we had in past year. After I sent them the additional documents supporting our case. About a month later the embassy representative called my wife at home and said report to the embassy for another interview. They interviewed lasted for about 2 1/2 hours. During the interview they pressured my wife to admit that we only did nikka and no other functions. At the end of the second interview they asked us to submit additional documents to show proof that I actually was in Pakistan during that time. I guess pictures with me in them were not enough. Those documents were received by the embassy on April 6, 2012. I have called Dept of State and they have told me that the embassy has everything they need. So now we just sit and wait. I am going back to Pakistan in May, and might schedule an appointment with the embassy. So to answer your questions EAbbas the second interview was because they suspect that our marriage is not legit, at least that is what we think. By the way does anyone know if the second interview is also considered as part of AP?

I understand completely.. and we do understand the issues facing those applying from pakistan... yes fraud happens but from every country.. and why do we have to prove way beyond what others have to? We also had a long interview when my husband went.. about an hour in a back room.. and he opened our fb pages (which was no big deal as we were on eachothers and all his family too and had our wedding pictures etc... ) and called my husbands boss and asked if he knew about our marriage.. of cos he did we sent him an invitation but he couldnl't attend due to another obligation. Then a month later the CO called me at work and asked me questions.. finally telling us our case was fine we had nothing to worry about.. altho he said that he couldn't technically say we were approved he could say we were fine we just had to endure the mandatory AP... they didn't require more documents or more interviews we are just waiting for the name checks to complete. They gave us back all our originals and kept his passport. And that's where we have been ever since...we are real.. we didn't enter this marriage spontaneously it was after a couple of years of knowing eachother to the point that we realized our souls were meant for only eachother. I would love to go back to visit but due to my job changing i have no time off and can't afford to risk my job to leave for two weeks if im not approved for vacation time. its painful and emotional and lonely and heartbreaking but i also know that the man i love adores me and cherishes me and understands my needs and my moods and quite frankly.. its worth waiting for

All I can say is stay faithful and stay strong and find a way to manage your abnormal distance the best you can it won't be this way forever!!!

I agree with you. But why do we have to share personal things with those we do not know. I mean my wife gave them a personal greeting card that i sent along with person Gmail chat conversation. Which is non of there business. It is hard to go back and visit, therefore I completely understand your situation. The reason I am able to go back is because I will officially be done with Graduate school. So before I start looking for a job I wanted to go visit everyone back home. Just hang in there it will be over soon.
