i think i will try calling the embassy to see what's really going on...because dos just told me pending ap, but through the congressman's assistant im hearing something totally different.i read someone's story where an adjudicating officer reviewed the case once it was back at uscis. As far as i know my case is still with the embassy. Im just freaking out a bit. Hopefully we hear good news i will keep you all posted inshAllah and praying hard for all of us dealing with this every day

There is INTERNAL AP-AT THE EMBASSY LEVEL and there is

MANDATORY AP WHICH IS NAME AND BACKGROUND CHECKS in washington computers.

Sounds like he has not YET gone thru Mandatory AP for name checks.

Maybe they are still checking documents and verifying relationship at the embassy level.

It is a great thing you got the congressman involved so they will finish the internal AP soon. Then it might have to go through MANDATORY AP name checks still.

I hope not.

I hope after the INTERNAL AP then he gets his visa.

DOS is answering your questions by saying yes he is in AP---you have to ask the right questions

ask them "What is the status of his case?"

they will say it it pending or it is in process or it is in administrative processing

then you have to ask specifically IS IT MANDATORY?

then they will say yes or no

Try calling DOS again first and see if you get the same answer about needing another interview.......... if you get that same answer again i think i would call the embassy.

We never call the embassy.. i think ive called once maybe twice this entire time and our process is already long....so i think thats a myth!

Do not lose hope!!

The end is near.

This 2nd interview is just a formality cause it has been so long for you.

Just do the interview. Always smile friendly. Make eye contact.

Be proud as you answer and know you will have the visa soon!!

I agree with togetherforever13.. if they require another interview it will be fine! If they don't need another interview and are still processing your case then all they are doing is putting your submitted docs together with your case file and making sure they have everything they need and will be printing the visa soon. REMEMBER... THEY DONT ASK FOR UPDATED DOCS UNLESS THEY ARE FINISHED WITH THE AP CHECKING!!! Admin processing is also part of getting ready to print the visa/printing process... it isn't done until it's printed and issued.

Don't lose hope it's soon for you!

Then you don't have an interview... sometimes DOS doesn't have the correct informaiton... They recently told one of our members here that their AP was completed and that was so far from the truth. The embassy has the actual accurate information.

They are simply processing your visa and getting it ready to print. They would not ask you for updated medical/ds230 if they weren't ready to do that.. it would be just another wasted step otherwise.

IT's soon for you.. stay faithful!
