Today i call to us embassy ...i ask the operator if our Ap will end and we do not respond the embassy in a week or 2 week then can our ap start again she said no...But she also told me if u remain 1 year in ap we do Admin process many times in 1 case we do admin process again and again Till the end ....She also told me that when u call to us embassy and operator talk to u then an automatic request forward to look again on ur case when they check the data from ur case.......

Ridacat.... It seems that many of us are stuck in a long AP now... a few years ago it seemed the longest was about 9 months but now you see that there are a lot of us stuck between 6 months and a year and like you, we are also still stuck for 16 months with still no resolution to our case. For whatever reason its becoming more likely to be stuck for a longer time. If you are one of the lucky ones you get the visa quickly otherwise stuck living your life apart and dreaming of the day you are together.

All you can do at this point is continue to make inquiries with the embassy and DOS. If you haven't yet gotten your congressman or senator involve, now is the time to do that. Again , they can't make AP stop but they can make an impact on your case by another government office watching it closely.

EAbbas, thank you so much for your detailed response and advises. You are being very supportive. Yes, I tried to contact people (I am the petitioner): senator #1 (responded that nothing much can be done at this point); senator #2 (contacted the Embassy, they responded with regular "keep waiting" and the senator's rep forwarded it to us); Representative (did not respond). It was about a year ago, so maybe I should try contacting them again...

I spoke to an immigration lawyer, he said nothing much can be done; I went to the Embassy when I was in Pakistan, they were nice and polite but kind of evasive with answers. Not sure if anything else could be done.

P.S. And thank you for adding our case into the timeline! He also had to redo the medical exactly 1 year after the first one.

I called nvc and they said my case has been completed and sen oct 12 2012t... Now we're just waiting for the interview date..... I hate the wait ???????? how Long does it take to get an interview date? It's for my husband (cr1) islamabad

Our case was closed the first few days in May 2011 and my husband received his interview letter on May 17th for the next month june 15th. Sometimes it takes a couple of weeks to a month or so. You should hear something soon!

I see often people from vj going through the process and being placed on AP. And its not everyday there is someone going for an interview..now imagine the number of people who are not from this forum on AP.
