My husband had interview at Islamabad Embassy on September 9th. We are still on AP. They (DOS) say all these answers to me too. I think it depends who picks up the phone. Please let me know what day and what time anyone talks to nice person so I can call at the same time too . Thanks.

I called DOS today. The lady said that our case is still pending. I wanted to find out when was the last notes entered by the embassy so I could have an idea about if it was being worked on. before Christmas another operator told me the last note was put in on October 29th. But the rude lady I got today said she was not allowed to tell me exactly when the last time notes were put in. So I asked her if she cudnt give me exact dates could she tell me around when it was touched last, last week, last month? So she replied I can see that they are working on it now.

Do you think she gave me a random answer or does it mean anything?

Anybody with updates? All we had this week was DOS said we had several updates made the last days of the year... one was for my reply from embassy but there were others.. didn't say what they were or how many just said several and it shouldn't be too much longer

My fiance called and said he picked up his visa today alhumdulillah. It feels surreal.

EAbbas, you can add my info to the tracker:

shmalik K1 (male) interviewed Nov. 2011, Visa issued Jan. 3 and picked up Jan. 6, 2012 (total time in AP about 7-8 weeks).

I'll keep you all in my prayers that this new year brings everyone's AP to a close. It probably doesn't matter now but the reason why I think we were put in AP was because my fiance had lived in the UK as well as Pakistan - seems that lengthy travel outside of Pakistan is a trigger for AP.

Congratulations!!! Yeah your right...outside travel to other countries also triggers AP... but thankfully it wasn't a long one...just waiting until the day my husband says he has his visa in hand...

Priority DAte.. the ppl that are being called to the USA can't come until their priority date is current.. it's not for US citizen petitioners but non us citizen petitioners and their beneficiaries

US citizen petitioners have a visa immediately available for their beneficiaries

There is a quota per year for visas from each country for non us citizens... the beneficiary can only get a visa when the next round which is their priority date is current...when its non current even if they had interview already they have to wait..

I still want to file the Writ of Mandamus but I am waiting for my lawyer to tell me if it's a good idea or not. She is supposed to give me her opinion by Wednesday. I trust my lawyer and if she says for me not to do it I will follow her advice.

This month marks 14 months of us being in AR/AP. I don't know what the embassy is doing with our case. I can't understand why it is taking so long. 6 months went by before they called my husband in for a 2nd interview. It's been 8 months sense his 2nd interview. I'm so stressed I'm starting to pull my hair out.

All we can do is continue to wait and to pray.

I think the guidelines state after one year on AP you can file this. Do some research in the meantime and before you get to that I'm sure your AP will be over! Wish carolyn would also see the end to this!
