Does the divorce papers have to be the original or can it be copies? You actually need a certified copy, meaning you will need to request one from the authority that granted it. In my case, I had to write a letter to the County Recorder in the county in which our divorce was sealed. There was a minimal charge for this but you will then get an official copy with a seal on it.

All we presented during interview are photocopied of divorce decree from previous 2 marriages and it works well.goodluck

IMHO it is not worth taking the chance to get delayed because all you had was a photo copy of your divorce decree. I took a certified true copy of my divorce decree

with me when I went to Patty's interview. As stated above by another VJ member, you can obtain a certified true copy of your divorce decree from the county recorder's

office where you filed your divorce for a nominal fee. In my case, it cost me $16 per copy. Good luck on the interview!

In all cases the Embassy will ask for a recent letter of intent. They don't need to be notarized, just need original signatures. It shows ongoing relationship.

A while ago, a VJer reported being asked by a CO in Manila for an updated letter of intent to marry...which the VJer did not have. I think she passed anyway.
