I just entered US a week ago and got married in city hall a day after.

(came in on a K1 visa)

I understand that I need to wait 10-14days before I apply for my SSN number,

that would also be the same time I can get a copy of marriage license for my AOS application.

My question is:

Can I apply for AOS/EAD/AP before I get my SSN Number?

I would need to wait an additional 14 days before I can apply for my AOS.

What do most people write in their AP for travel?

I dont have any travel per se but I just want to get an AP just in case i need to travel.

Please advise.

Also..stupid question, has anyone ever gotten an RFE for using a blue ink to fill the forms (instead of black ink as stated).

Cheers

You can submit the AOS packet WITHOUT apply for a social security number.

You dont put the most common answer to apply for the AOS but the REASON why YOU are applying.

If you have not filled out your forms yet.. why not use the black ink as instructed to avoid the possibility

1. Yep. SSN isn't required to file for AOS

2. See the example forms. Write unknown for the date and length. See the AOS guide in my signature for document requirements. There is no need to attach a document explaining why you're eligible as applying for AOS makes you eligible.

3. Black ink to complete the form, but I prefer blue ink to sign to show what's original.

hi all,

Thank you all for your help.

Like Vanessa & Tony, I used a blue pen to fill out the form as I believe its easier to read.

I kinda filled out most of the forms already, but will do so in black again since it was stated for some forms.

Thank you for your link Vanessa&Tony, I am looking for the "most common answer" because I believe the reason why I'm applying for AP is the same as most; I dont have any overseas travel planned yet, but would like to apply for AP just in case. So, RICARDO4EVA2, i hope that clears it up.

And thank you all for your answer on the SSN issue.:)
