I'm starting to worry now

I'm adjusting status based on marriage, already got my EAD about 2 months ago, and last week I got this...

"On December 8, 2011, we mailed you an appointment notice for an interview for January 10, 2012, at NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER. Please follow the instructions on the notice..."

today (friday) was the 16th...

My Appointment for Biometrics and a couple of notices of action didn't take this long to come in the mail, has anyone else experienced the same when it comes to appointment notices???

should I be worry and call them?

It's possible the christmas rush has delayed your mail, but yes, I would call them to check. Not to worry you unduly, but I never did receive the hard copy of the receipt for my I-485 application despite repeated follow ups. Of course it's all moot now that I have my actual green card.

Good luck to you.

Dec 05, 2011: Received U.S. permanent resident status (AOS based on K-1 visa)

December 24th

And Still nothing in the Mail

All other mail came fine with no delays

Called USCIS and they said theres nothing they can do until January 8th, a month after appointment notice was sent.

so I only know is on January 10th, No time, No Location...

Has this happened to anyone before?

That is why I really don't like USPS, we got same situation too, we had to call bunch of times to get it resent. You should call them, they will tell you to wait 30 days. In 30 days, you need to talk to a supervisor (we received another copy within days after talking to a supervisor.)

.. Just out of curiosity, is your name not on the mailbox? And you have reported your new address to USPS so they'll forward your mail?

No matter what, you'll need to make sure that notice is at your doorstep before Jan 10. Infopass is the way to go. You only have 10 days left so if you can't get an infopass appointment before then I suggest rescheduling your interview. You need the interview letter and the instructions for what to bring.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days

Keep calling to reschedule your interview appointment, and attend the info-pass appointment regardless of the outcome of rescheduling interview date.

Since you don't know the exact time of your original interview I'd suggest you at least make an effort to change the interview date. When it's going to be at the same day as your info-pass appointment you'd want to make sure that they get the request and that it has been changed for your own sake.

I don't think the OP is trying to reschedule, merely to determine when it is.

OP, I would show up when the office opens since you do not know the time. Hopefully since you have the Infopass scheduled the same day they will let you in and you can just attend your interview.

Well, Good News!!!

Yesterday I decided to cancel the info pass i had for same day as the interview since i've found another one available for yesterday

So I went and asked them and they finally confirmed the place and time for me, But the agent at the window was still telling me how they might not let me in without the notice on that date since it has special instructions on what to bring for my case.

She encouraged me to call the 1800 line and after talking, being transferred and holding for about 34 mins someone decided to fax me a courtesy copy of the notice

I have it with me! so now is about getting ready for tuesday.

and Thank you very much for bringing up the Infopass which i had no idea about, that was they key to get this solved!

hmmm

i've made some posts about uscis and usps in the last 2 days here - let me know if you can't find them with the advanced search feature here.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
