I live in New jersey and my cousin in washington just passed away. I want to attend his funeral... Im here on K-1, married last week, applied for SSN, and sending my AOS documents today.

Are there any restrictions to flying over to WA??

What do I need when I got to the airport?

You are free to fly within the USA and you need a government issued ID, drivers license, passport etc. I am not sure but, I think you can use your foreign passport. I am sorry to hear about your cousin.

What do I need when I got to the airport?

No problem at all.. If travelling with in US.. You don't even need your passport.. A drivers license or any government issued ID is fine..

Yes! That's fine.. The only reason they need an ID is to confirm that it's you on the ticket and not other person.. No visa is needed if flying within US but if you have an expired fiancé visa, it's better to bring your NOA1 from your AOS application just incase somebody asked for it.. But I doubt... Not unless you go to Arizona where they have this 'papers please' law and you can be asked at anytime of your papers if you are here in US legally. Other than that.. You're good to go.. :)

Sorry.. Yes! US government issued ID.. I assume it to be US coz she's in US.. :) but I'm sure a passport is an ID that's acceptable worldwide.

Two countries separated by a common language. Any Government issued ID means from any recognized government.

Acceptable IDs include:

  • U.S. passport
  • U.S. passport card
  • DHS "Trusted Traveler" cards (NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST)
  • U.S. Military ID (active duty or retired military and their dependents, and DOD civilians)
  • Permanent Resident Card
  • Border Crossing Card
  • DHS-designated enhanced driver's license
  • Drivers Licenses or other state photo identity cards issued by Department of Motor Vehicles (or equivalent)
  • A Native American Tribal Photo ID
  • An airline or airport-issued ID (if issued under a TSA-approved security plan)
  • A foreign government-issued passport
  • Canadian provincial driver's license or Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) card
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
