Hello fellow Visa Journeymen/women!

Just filed a petition for a K1 for my fiance and received my NOA1. Filed with the Texas center so hopefully they stick to their plan of 5 months (or maybe quicker?? fingers crossed!). Have there been cases where a petition goes much quicker than the anticipated average?

yes there are lots of people get NOA2 in much less time than 5 months... but there are just as many who have to wait much longer too.

just so you know... Texas is just a lockbox facility for K-1 and your NOA1 will say your petition has been forwarded to either Vermont or California. either of those 2 will be the service centre that processes your petition and not Texas.

good luck :)

Mine was approved within one month...There are even so many others approved in less than 3 weeks...Is all about FBI name check and some other number of reason and above all, luck.....All you can do is to pray and wait for your own time....but in most cases,is approved within 4 to 5 months.....

Wishing you speedy approval though....lol

I would bet you have an 80% chance of being approved in 4-6 months with a 1 month variance  .

Wooohoo! We started on the exact same day! Let's hope all goes well and we're one of the select few who get processed in record time! :)

Hello :) We had our NOA1 hard copy by late September...we're still waiting to hear, too. They can go ahead and hurry now. :D

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!

Hi Sherri! Hopefully you hear back well in advance of the 5-month timeframe! My guy is from England as well :)

I have nothing to base this on, but for my situation, my guy and I are both mid-20s, no children, no prior marriages, he's not from a country known for fraud, would that help speed the process up at all? My situation right now, having just submitted everything, I know I just need to chill out - I'm starting to have nightmares of everything taking forever to get approved, him being denied at the border when he tries to visit, all sorts of crazy scenarios. There's no sense in worrying, I know. I just need to be positive :)

Happy holidays everyone!

I'm in a similar situation where both of us are in our 20s no marriages etc. etc. Half of my family are immigrants to the US in the last 25 years (me included) so they all have their backgrounds in files at the USCIS.. hoping that helps speed it up. Other than that, I already mentioned that my fiance already has B12 visa issued to her for ten years (before Lithuania and the US came to the no-visa agreement in 2008) - so they must have reviewed her before as well.. Either way hoping for New Years surprises!!!

P.S. I work in anti-fraud/money laundering/terrorist financing - and there are huge rings of Nigerian and Romanian fraudsters based out of the UK! Not immigration fraud, but consumer fraud and other things like fake websites! Never send money via MoneyGram or Western Union for goods to people you don't know! :)

Once again, enjoy the holidays and remember - next year we'll all be married and spending these cold evenings with our significant others!!!
